Relaxing place for lunch or dinner. Small yet well utilized place. Chianti is an absolute bliss. I have been here a couple of times and it has only gotten better.
They offered bruschetta as complimentary. Simple but starts awakening your taste buds.
We ordered a broccoli soup and a mushroom soup.
Insalata di funghi de pere, read mushroom and pear salad.
I love mushrooms but the broccoli soup was soothing. Perfect amount of cheese. Loved it. Mushroom soup was good too.
The breads they serve with soup, always soft and fresh. I suggest they start selling them ;) :)
Mushroom and pear salad - Oh what do I say. My love for salads is very recent and this one is going to be my bar for measuring the rest. Very tasty and healthy salad. The sweetness of the pear and the generosity of lettuce, occasional bit on the mushrooms - Oh so divine!!!
For main course, we had
Gnocchi de patate with four cheese sauce
Fettucine ala bolognese - with chicken instead of beef, picata di pesce but with a lemon sauce (as one of my friend is allergic to fish) and pollo al ripeni.
Fettuchine was good. Nicely done. Nice sauce.
Gnocchi - Four cheese sauce - was really good. Nice drizzle of olive oil. I am not sure if I do not like gnocchis or if their gnocchi could be better. Its definitely lighter than most of the gnocchis I had. One saving grace. But it could have had a bit more salt.
Pollo al ripeni - presentation was impeccable. Presentation was better than the taste.
Picata - Basa grill - Unbelieveable. Why didn't I see this first!!! Amazing food. I kept digging with no shame into my friends plate. Basa was so soft filled with mild flavours. The lemon sauce perfectly complemented the fish. The mashed potato was perfect.
The taste that still lingers is the mushroom and pear salad :) Stole the show .
