Great Ambience Poor Food

Great ambience, location and service. However, food is disappointing if not poor. Someone needs to tell the chef that vinegar is added only to a Goan Vindaloo dish and not a prawn curry. And definitely not an overdose of vinegar. You only add a bit of lemon juice or tamarind for taste, careful not to make it sour. And where were the curry leaves? Moreover, a chicken caesar salad must, must have croutons, anchovies and grated cheese.

things nice n beautiful

quite a nice decor.. we loved the ambience n the service.. wasn't the best decision to go out there with friends, to drink through the night - as it turned out to be a little expensive in the end :)
however, nice cocktails and drinks served, good food - i can complain a little abt the quantity though..
but all n all a nice place, must visit - a nice time guaranteed!
the kinda place u'd wanna visit once in a long time!! :)

Any time place

A place where you can visit in what ever mood you are in , you wanna party with loud music , go to the first and second floor , you want to have good but quiet time with friends , go to the terrace garden.
Just sit on the old style cushiony large wooden chair and see Cannaught Place at night with mist fan spraying cold breeze over you.

Food:- order anything and it's good. Tried veg kababs and non veg platter and they were good.

Occasionaly with luck you can also win some goodies with companies give to promote their brand (mostly liquor companies)
All in all a good place- centrally located .

Steadily going downhill

Q'Ba has gone downhill fast over the last couple of years. The quality of service is really does not match the prices -- and service is not just getting your staff smart black shirts. The front desk staff is not really bothered about making clients comfortable, and the woman at the welcome counter was completely rude. I had visited the joint on Saturday to celebrate a promotion with a friend was prompt tucked away on a upper section table. When I asked the waitress if a better table was available downstairs, she was unneccesarily gruff. At least the staff can be pleasant for the money being charged. We asked for regular water, being environmentally concious and what not, got served stale water. When we pointed this out to a guy who looked like a head waiter, he just shook his head and kept saying: "Ma'am, we have RO." Luckily the waiter serving us got us some fresh water. Totally not worth your money. This lousy experience cost us Rs 4,500 for two persons.

JUST ONCE

We were at this QBA yesterday night that's just a day after X-MAS..Ambience is good..music is too loud at the ground floor..you cant hear the next person speak..a thing that needs to be thought upon..the staff service is very slow..they need to pull up their socks..they take a hell lot of time in serving you...so please be patient and ready too..the first floor is much better the music dosent reach that loud and you can actually interact with your group...the terrace seating is just awesome..though we werent there to experience the eating but the view is just mindblowing..where you can see the entire CP..so we had a lil photoshoot there..and the staff is friendly enough to lend a hand in doing some clicks!! Now for the food part...hmmm...I'm a pure veg...so can take a stand about that only...the quality and quantity is good...but it was cold whe it reached our tables...which was just unimaginable...a shivering winter and cold food...but we were too hungry to argue on that so continued relishing it..deserts were oki..And mpost important of all if you are making payment by credit card then please see to it that you keep track of it and receive the same..We finished our dinner by 12midnight and was waiting for the credit card for 15 mins and the staff were clueless about it...only to find it lying on the carpet behind our table...so guys BEWARE!! and expensive tats for sure..

sumthin delhi can save itself with...

well people who travel extensively and have been to places know exactly what i am talking about. Q'BA is a wonderfull place to be in (specially in winters, go there once).

It has a nice blue interiors, with two levels and a sitting area outside. well with summers and the heat already here, you can let go the ouside area till winters.

This place is definately not for people to count their pennies and think about every paisa they spent. Its like the other hip places in delhi, that you need to shell a good amount for a wondefull evening. The DJ plays some nice tunes (which is veyr rare in delhi)...and the service is not too bad either...The drink and cocktails are nice, value for money....you would think once when you luk the the price, but trust me after gulping oen down you would knw wht i am talking abt... :)

i have been there thrice myslef, nice places, confortable and varied options of seating available...with great food...

do visit is for the love of ambience, and for one of the very few outside sitting places in delhi...

Confused Existence!

A confused existence, that is what Q'Ba is all about. I remember visiting this place a long while ago when it opened up as a lounge, and it was superb. Years down the line, it is just living the existence of a me-too restaurant, which incidentally has great interiors, high roofs, but mediocre food.

I was supposed to meet a friend here, and we caught up over Sunday lunch. QBa has a pan-asian+indian buffet lunch for Rs. 499 (plus taxes) everyday, including the weekends. We did not find it too interesting so, we requested for the a-la-carte menu. My friend wanted to order a Pasta, so the waiter gave us a look which said, "you're ridiculous to order a Rs. 400 pasta", when you can have all you can eat for 499.

I called in a Non-vegetarian Club Sandwich, which was huge, but disappointing. Why? Crumby bread, not enough meat inside, and a price so high.

For the desserts, we called in for a blueberry cheesecake and a chocolate based dessert. Now, again, Mr. Bad service plays his part by first bringing in the blueberry cheesecake and then informing us the other dessert was not available. Eventually, they got my friend a Chocolate Fudge with Coffee Ice Cream, which was nice.

The place started to buzz at about 3 PM, and once we paid our bill, we were asked to leave since there was someone else waiting for the table. Eh, never seen that before, that you got to leave within 2 minutes of paying the bill.

May not be my first choice for dining in CP again.

a perfect blend

Q'ba is a perfect blend of both a lounge and fine dining. a well laid out lounge with ultra cool lighting and bar with a huge open air roof top to add to the feel and to give a wide angle shot at the city's oldest spot- CP.
Perfect for an evening with friends and closed ones.

QBA is as wacky as its name!! The lighting, the music, the ambience.. everything transports you to a different location altogther! They have different sections for Smoking, and also arrange for outside seating. There is a mid-level floor for private parties as well. Food tastes gr8 and they serve multi-cuisine, satisfying your taste buds completely!!! The Chicken Ceaser Salad there is a must try!!! so are the super-delicious desserts!!!
Perfect for a cosy candle light dinner, as well as a group party.. Friendly staff who ensures everyone is comfortable. Slightly expensive place but then worth trying when one is feeling slightly rich!!!!

Best Outdoor sit out

I absolutely love the open outdoor sit out they have. Get in a lil early and bag seats overlooking the central park and wait for the lights to fade out...be sure to order extra drinks during the happy hour period to tide you over tho.
The food is good & like their Golden Platter a real treat and with enough to go around with the drinks. The pizzas are good & like their toppings as well

Cognitive dissonance

The quality of the food and drinks was abysmal, in stark contrast with the awesome space and ambience.

Well, I guess all aspects of the QBA experience are meant to be a flip-flop contrast at every stage from the word go - first, when you try to locate the place from the road (CP Inner Circle), its barely visible behind the trees. Then, you come closer to the building block, after parking, and see the very colorful and vibrant looking "QBA" (its not "Cuba", as I thought when my friend first mentioned it)...then you start to search for the entrance...which, to your surprise, is way out to the rear of the block. You start walking in the dingy looking, narrow alleyway, almost tempted to turn back. But suddenly you see well uniformed, pro-looking people at the reception dias on the ground floor, and that helps remove the initial hesitation. The ride up the elevator, cranky and colorful at the same time, is quick.

You thought an Americano was a strong, large, black cup of coffee? Its also a gin based drink on the QBA menu. But make sure you check the brand of gin they put in, and whether it is one to your taste. Because, of course, gin can vary widely in taste, depending on the brand. The one they put in the Americano was uncomfortably bitter, even for one who finds feni pleasant, and can have Bacardi Rum on the rocks! ;-)

TIP OF THE DAY: If you order the "Golden Basket " for starters, you'll probably realize that the basket itself is edible!! Its nothing but a poppodum "moulded" into a bowl shape.

Fine dine

The place is huge with its two floors and an open area. Which can be great in good weather days of delhi as you get the complete view of C.P.

This is for those who like to enjoy their space and are looking for a less noisy yet not totally dull place.A place to go with a group of friends but not kids allowed.

All this may be a little heavy on the pocket as compared to others in C.P, but its one of its kind in the vicinity.

Good food, a meal for two -approx Rs.1500/- with hard drinks

Good Stuff!

This can be a nice hangout. I would however recommend them not be everything for everybody. I wish they stuck to continental instead of trying to be everything. I like the bar and they make good drinks. The patio seating is awesome. All in all good place, good interiors, and decent food.

Great music, poor service

Been a fan of Q'BA for a while now. Was there recently and although the music was really good, the service was quite disappointing. Maybe thats because our group was sitting on the couches at the far end behind the screen, but repeatedly having to get up and walk across the floor to get the waiters' attention is a bit much. The couches are comfortable though, and the music was fantastic.

Also Q'BA continues to be very expensive, the pizza we ordered was tiny for the price and not well baked. But I don't know of many places in New Delhi which provide value for money with a nice ambiance as well. Why is Delhi so expensive??!

Not Bad

I think the place is a bit over-rated.

I went there for lunch with few friends (and I guess most reviewers here went in the evenings).

Contrary to the hype around it being a "nice place", their sofas were torn and the wooden furniture was rotting.

The food was decent; slightly expensive, yes. Place is pretty large and the lounge seats were very comfortable to "laze around"

Not bad...but not great either

Inner Circle Jewel

Few things define New Delhi better than CP's Inner Circle. With the gleaming new Central Park, the impossible parking, and one of the few walkable plazas in the capital, a restaurant boasting a superb view of all this action seems like a no-brainer. However, I'm sure many Delhiwallahs would agree that while many places in CP do make an effort, there's really no establishment that offers a killer view of the circle, something that should be any Inner Circle joint's USP.

Q'BA, in my opinion, should change all that. This is a super-sophisticated lounge, built around a quirky Q-shaped bar (hence the name). The crowd is diverse, as with most New Delhi places, and ranges from wide-eyed tourists to harried professionals to smooth-talking diplomats to students with money to burn. It's only fitting, then, that CP's Inner Circle becomes part of the decor, one with the ambience of the place.

There's an alchemical synergy at play here. Get a table on the upper deck, and you get a great insight into the surreal spectacle that is Inner Circle by night. The drinks are all great, I'm sure. The food must also have been good, right? To be honest, I can't remember, because I've been enchanted by the ambience of the place since I walked in. Dim lighting, hushed service, fluid music, subtle digital flashes of light here and there. Down a couple of beers, and it's twice as good! It's pricey, but if you've chosen to come drinking in CP, chances are you can afford it.

So if you want a sophisticated, atmospheric night out in the capital, but don't want to make the journey all the way down to the Qutab area, Q'Ba will not disappoint. Until DV8 is done with renovation, this is probably the swishest lounge in CP.

Nice ambiance

We were moving around CP area couple of weeks back and the Delhi heat had good of us. We decided to have a beer somewhere and to avoid the afternoon sun.

The impression at the entrance was very bad, it looked very shady, however once we entered the main restaurant the perception changed. The first thing that surprised me was the sheer space available there. With the rates that are prevalent for real estate in CP area, one wouldn't take a long time to make out that this place would be very expensive.

Anyhow we settled it, and the only thing we wanted was a beer, but they didn't have regular Indian Beers, and when we ordered the drought beer, we were presented with a can of Kingfisher drought. Cranberry juice which was listed under the fresh juice category, had no fresh feel to it and felt like some concentrate and water mixture.

Anyhow won't rate the place too low, as I have not yet eaten anything there, and was there in the afternoon, so might go there one of these days in the evening and then would be able to post a proper review. However regardless of the blemishes the place had a great feel to it, I could have easily imagined what would be the environment like in the evening hours.

PS : For two Drought beers (500 Ml each) and a Cranberry juice the damage was more than Rs.500.

The bar seemed to be very well stocked, have uploaded a picture of the same.

Go for the ambience

QBa has a rather put-off-ing entrance, which bears testimony to the many years it's been in existence. But once you're up on the terrace, it's all eye-candy. The place is lovely to visit in winters over lunch. Their 3-flavoured cheese garlic bread was yummy, and so was the tomato soup. Looking forward to go there in peak-winter.

Soak in the surreal ambience

I agree completely with the review titled 'Inner Circle Jewel.' Just thought I'd add my experience to it.

The first time I went here, I had the whole of Sunday to kill with a couple of friends before taking the flight back to Chennai. It was winter time and so we took a table on the upper deck and enjoyed the early afternoon sun with a picturesque view of the Inner Circle at Connaught Place. Later, we took a table inside. There was some great live acoustic music on the podium just above the Q-shaped bar. Sunlight came in through the violet wraps and gave the place a surreal feel.

The next 3 times that I have been here has been during the evenings and I have taken seats on the lower storey - once at the bar stool and a couple of times on the large sofas. The lights keep changing colours gradually and you can see the place in different hues. Also, have spotted a tarot card reader on a couple of occasions. She pays a visit to all tables. There was something interesting happening on all occasions. Also there were some great gigs advertised at QBA but I never got to attend them.

Be sure to visit QBA with good friends who have a whole day to spare and soak in the ambience.

Place not to be missed!!!

Been going to this place for a while now and had an instant liking for it. For starters on a cozy winter evening book a table at the patio, the view is beautiful and inner circle is at magnificence. The Music is good but not very consistent. (Can be wearisome at times). Have variety at the Bar esp. good range of wines. The inside seating is on 2 floors. I particularly like the 2nd floor, as there are a few tables and couches which on event of a large group can be easily transformed into Ur personal party space :) Btw even a Sunday afternoon drink at the terrace with a light Italian lunch is also do-able.
But yes the place for its quirky yet swish feel comes at a price...for coming to inner circle for a drink was never a "Budget-tee" affair.

Pricely aggressions

Though a good place by terms of ambience but its dishes are highly priced which is even not very delicious.

Rather an individual can have same dishes from another restaurants which is neither too expensive and yet lip smacking.

The interiors are well designed and the each seperate concept of private cabins is also intresting.

As far as the bar is concerned ;it is well stocked but the same criteria of over over pricing.

Worth going only once to satisfy your seeking cravings.

Good, but not great

There is plenty to like about this place in terms of ambience, especially during the winter when you can spend the afternoon on the terrace with a great view of Connaught Place. The Afghani Tangri is one item I'd definitely recommend, but the quality of food was otherwise not that great. I found their biryani a little too oily and salty for my liking. Could do with more variety in their beer collection.

hORRIBLE rEDEFINED

It's usually a good rule of thumb to only go into a restaurant you don't know when it's busy. Well, not that i'm complaining about the food atQBA, it's pretty good.

They just have an extremely rude staff that can't deal with the large numbers of customers. food turns up anything from 30-45 mins apart per course on a table for 4 & over, just not acceptable when dining with friends. Two times in two weeks i've been victim to this terrible service, Please qba STOP HYPING YOURSELP ELSE YOU WILL BE GONE IN 60 SECONDS...

Perfect Delhi View!

I really enjoyed sipping on the domestic beers that we had ordered at Qba as along with the beer we got to enjoy the unbelievable view of Delhi. Something that noone knows is that when at the rooftop of Qba, the busy Delhi life seems quiet. A bizarre moment was when we took pleasure in enjoying the view of India's capital from a high-roof and felt extremely patriotic at the sight of the Indian flag placed in the park adjacent to Qba, it was swaying itself free, up-high and looked so beautiful!

Awesome Experience!

Nice place to hangout with friends or to have a nice meal with your better half:-) the dj plays good music and its not very loud. Q'BA - CONNAUGHT PLACE

I have been seeing the iconic QBA standing tall for more than a decade now. Located in the centre of CP, it's hard to miss the place with the lovely purple shades of it. I have been visiting QBA occasionally for almost 5 years now. It has 3 sections and a decor which is class apart. You’ll definitely fall for the romantic candle lit ambience.

My favourites are golden fried prawns, mezze platter, tandoori platter and rogan josh. You must try it when you visit the place. I have heard they also have a buffet lunch which I am eager to try.

For the service this place is slow. It should definitely work on that. Even when you are the only people sitting there, it takes them almost half an hour to get the order. But the food is worth the wait.

Overall the place deserves 4*

Ambience 5/5

Food 4/5

Staff 3/5

Price 3/5

Lovely visit

I went this place yesterday with mum and dad. It was a completely random decision. The interiors are classy but then I wanted to have food outdoor and it was simply too romantic as well as refreshing. The place was quite busy and our order took a while to arrive. The weather was amazingly pleasant. We decided on an outdoor lunch at Q'Ba and the view was breath-taking. The regular penné cooked lightly in a basic Alfredo sauce with a lot of vegetables was out of this world! The regular north Indian fare was superb too The drinks too are good with authentic liquor The food is just too good though the prices are on the steeper side but then it doesn't hurt once in a while. Recommended.

Very large space!

Q'BA was an accidental find. I love Connaught Place. I have grown up in Central Delhi and that part is really close to my heart because of the special memories attached to it. I know all the stores, restaurants and eateries in CP. When I first saw Q'BA it was after I came back to India after a long time. I did not know of Q'BA so when I went in for the first time it was all new. I like to explore new places to eat. Food is my life and trying new places excites me. A new restaurant to me is what a new barbie doll is to a little girl. Q'BA is very dark and I guess I like such places very much. I can curl up in a corner with my laptop and write for hours without worrying about the time of day.

The service at Q'BA was quite disappointing, the servers were really polite but they were nowhere to be seen (especially when I went to Q'BA in the afternoon). In the evening, however, they were quite active. I guess Q'BA does not see a lot of people in the afternoon which is why there are not many servers available in the afternoon. Ah, well. I love my tea and coffee and I sat there waiting for a server to get back to me with information on whether they will or wont be able to serve me coffee as I worked on my book. They did not have any coffee because their coffee machine wasn't functional. I then ordered a lime soda which worked perfectly well for me (it is so hot in Delhi).

I continued working on my book as I ordered "Golden Fish Fingers" and "Bruschetta". I know, I know, two starters for one person; I admit that I eat a lot but when you are working so hard you have to eat don't you? Excuses, lol. I love food, period. Anyhow, the fish fingers could have been crispier. I loved the chopped fresh tomatoes with garlic, basil, olive oil and vinegar on toasted slices of bread. I like my bruschetta with plum tomatoes but what I had at Q'BA wasn't half bad.

I wasn't very hungry after eating two starters so I did not have lunch but the time I spent at Q'BA was quite peaceful. I love the ambience. I recommend this place for some quiet time with yourself in the afternoon or a romantic dinner with your partner in the evening.

Amazing experience!

This is a big big restaurant having 2 floors with both outdoor and indoor seating. The menu has a lot of options. Though the prices are a bit on the higher side, the food makes up for the prices they charge. We ordered north indian and each and every dish was well prepared. The service is very prompt. The icing on the cake is their ambience which is so soothing that you just don't want your dinner to end ever. Highly recommended!!
