Worst Food Ever!!!!
I had heard about this place and had high hopes of getting some decent Goan home style food. I went along with a Goan friend at around 6.30pm when they had just opened.
The restaurant is very small and consists of wooden bench-like seating and very basic decor. There was a grumpy man on the desk who grunted when we asked if the full menu was available!!
The menu is written on a blackboard in chalk and at first glance looks ok-prices are around Rs 30-45 mostly. We ordered Pork Sorpatel (Rs 45)and fried Surmai(Rs 35). The food arrived quited quickly and the sorpatel looked an ok sized portion and was served with sliced pao. I didn't like the sorpatel at all and left it to my friend to finish it off!!! The surmai came and consisted of 1 overcooked, very red slice of surmai. It tasted very dry and did not have enough salt in the masala and was definately not worth the price at all. We then ordered Pork Roast (Rs 35 I think!)-this came and consisted of 2 slices of pork which tasted more boiled than roasted, very bland and very tough, could hardly cut it to eat. It came on a plate with a slice of partially boiled potato, a few slices of unwashed carrots and a bit of tomato and a dish full of a yellow oily liquid with a few flies and black hair-hopefully from the pig-in it! It tasted bland and greasy. Pao was also provided but we did not end up eating as the gravy was too foul to eat!
I would never go back to this restaurant or recommend it and have to say it was the worst food that I can ever remember having in a restaurant. I have rated it as a 1 Star as there is not a half Star!!!
