Club IX is my nostalgia hangout (not just for the music but for all the times I've been there with friends - old & new and left with satisfaction)!
Club IX to me is an extension of Xavier's'. There ain't a single time I've been there that there's not at least one other Xavierite in some corner or on the dance floor.. singing along with the retro tunes that the DJ (who's older at that place than most of the furniture) spins.
The place is no larger than 1,200 sq.ft. and has at least 4 large pillars in it and is located on the ground floor of a residential apartment building. But that hasn't stopped this cozy, barn-like bar from becoming a favourite among localities and retro-lovers. After its last renovation sometime in 2004, Club IX now sports a better spaced interior and has also brought back the old dancing space in a neat secluded area for those rock 'n' roll frenzies (read as: makka pavs) who just can't resist shaking a leg in the density of 6/sq.ft. :D
Morris, the Manager is always around to ensure that only the right characters enter and stick around while you can be assured of quality service with prompt waiters & of course only the best music. Try the 'Garlic, Chilli potatoes' which is no longer on the menu but available nonetheless. The drinks rates were also recently slashed down to keep up with competition.
One of the best places to watch Cricket/Football match screenings! So, what're you waiting for?? Head there now!
