Part of the BJN Group from Bangalore, Aromas - located at Veera Desai Road is part of their chain (Angeethi at Vile Parle is their other restaurant in Mumbai)..
The place is very plush - on the lines of a 5 star hotel, huge, and besides the usual seating also has private dining areas for 6 - 12 people..
Surprisingly the pricing is not too expensive - not 5 star at all but something on the lines or lesser than Mainland China...
The BJN Group usually adopts this strategy of low pricing in the beginning and later hikes up prices when the restaurant is immensely popular...
The strategy seems to be working as you have to literally drop names to get a reservation on weekends (unless you have booked up much earlier).
On the food - the portions are very generous - but not upto the mark..
I have had lunch and dinner there on 3 occasions - even tried out the buffet on a sunday afternoon - but was quite un-impressed as the food had too much of a conflour coating and the sauces were not upto the mark.. in fact, i did complain to the chef too..
Some of the items on the a-la-carte menu are good - specially the fish and prawns...
This is just the place you should go to if you want to take guests you want to impress with the setting and interiors...
Pricing for 4 Rs. 2000/- (with 2 alcoholic drinks).
Buffet was around Rs. 275/- earlier which must have been hiked up now...
