I think what this place truly has going for it is ambience, after all Fab India is housed in a lovely building so the choice of location is excellent.
The menu is something you start knowing by heart if you're a regular visitor to the Crossword in kemps corner, so the novelty value does wear off. But atleast you're guaranteed a good cup of cappucino and some pretty good desserts and sandwiches.I often buy the multi-grain bread from here and on occasion have bought the tapenade (mushroom I think) both of which are very good.
The service is admittedly sucky and there was one time where atleast 5 different things we'd asked for were not available (which was quite annoying), but somehow even that hasn't put me off from going back here ever so often (something about the waiter on the day made me feel almost bad for the guy - don't ask why!)
If you're in the area I would definitely recommend going here for a chilled out, lazy cup of coffee and maybe some conversation!
