Shi-Shi to see, so-so to experience
I know everyone is raving about China House but the two turn offs on Saturday night were:
Impolite, unequipped, over-worked, under-staffed bartenders- Its just not cool to hang out at the bar for 30 minutes and wait for your next round of drinks while the bartender doesn't as much as look your way. And what you do get at the end of the wait is some flat drink with barely any alcohol in it.
Fat butts and pancake heads- I am yet to see a club in Bombay that hand picks the crowds and filters in only people that befit a place of that caliber. There was a 'bhai' akin circuit, just a shorter, fatter, uglier version with Bappi style chains and bracelets that was making out with his even shorter, fatter, uglier babe aunty in a mini skirt and tube top right as you enter. The sight was gross enough to make you wanna run out of there as fast as you could. I met one of my nice look girl friends later that evening and she said she had a hard time getting in.. Now we all know why.
The rest of the crowd was ok, quite a lot of older crowd though- like 40ish. Music was good, none of the typical commercial shit.
There we go Soheb - I wrote the review before you. Drinks on you next weekend. :P
