I read a hoarding about this place on my way home and decided to give this place a shot. I am so glad I did.
This theme restuarant has managed to create a faux jungle, complete with giant giraffes, elephants, alligators, tortoises, a waterfall and a huge banyan tree with its branches stretching all over the huge place. And all of this on the 8th floor of a shi-shi residential cum commercial building in Malad.
The service is very good with the waiters going out of their way to make you comfortable. I must mention the one serving me, Ayuan Ganguly, who not only recommended what I should have but sportingly went along with the childish banter of the two kids who were accompanying me and even gave them a nice little tour of the entire place, acquainting them with the animals there.
The interiors are a little dimmed, but it goes with the jungle theme, complete with the log seats.
The menu is not very lengthy, but the fare is good.
The murg tikka kandhari is nothing like the Afghans make. It fact it is a bit sweet, but with a tangy undertaste that complements the sweetness. The ajwani fish tikka did not have any ajwain on it, but was fresh and good nonetheless.
I loved the names of the items on the menu. I had a Chicken Hunter, which is a bit sweet and made in coriander base. The Gosht Lazeez was delicious as was the lachedar paratha which was not rubbery like I have had in most places.
The quantities are huge. So three people can have one gravy item nicely.
