My favorite chaat haunt...rediscovered
Karichiwalla as everyone calls it, stood at the place today Bay City stands, about 3 years back, until they were driven off from here, as the bigger establishment opened for business. Ever since, each time I had panipuri elsewhere I would spare a sigh for Karichiwalla's pani puris. Had been told its somewhere on Hill Road, but found it finally again only a couple of days back. It's in the tiny lane bang opposite Bandra Medical Store. Can't see how I could have missed it....now that I know where it is.
The pani puri there is absolutely the best....especially if you like it really spicy, tangy and absolutely chiiiiiiiiiilled...of course they do as well with their dahi puri, sev puri, pav bhaji etc. They have loads of sweets and kulfis too. But since I don't quite favor either, can't comment on it. But I've heard that their Kulfis are really good.
But best of all is something that I'd actually forgotten about. Every time you're served or even when you pay....you also get a smile. Sure makes me feel welcome and wanted.
