VFM Italian Sunday Brunch
White has been one of my recent favourite Italian restaurants ( the other one being Olive). Yesterday me and my family went for White's Sunday brunch which they recently started.
Firstly, for all those who think White is in a distant suburb (of Goregaon W) , let me tell you that it took me exactly 15 minutes to reach the place from Juhu on a busy Sunday afternoon. So it is not far.
We sat out in the garden area which is very green and their unique mist fountain makes the entire place very refreshing.
The buffet spread was lavish right from the mocktails (on order), soup, exotic finger foods , salad, fresh thin crust pizzas from their woodfire oven, quality imported cold cuts and cheese, live counters for omelettes and pasta.
The best part was that the main course was not put on the buffet but had to be ordered separately and was cooked fresh. My wife ordered the grilled baby lobsters and I settled for lamb with rosemary sauce and mashed potatoes (very light and fluffy) and brocolli. Both dishes were excellent and served with hot breads and different kinds of butter.
The Dessert buffet inclded fruit skewers in creme de menthe sauce, tri chocolate mousse and many others but the kids freaked out on the live waffles/crepes counter which was served with different sauces/syrups. Yummy !
Now the best part : all this for Rs 450/= (taxes included) !
A real steal ! They also have a brunch with unlimited beer/wine for Rs. 900/= (taxes included).
Kudos to the ever smiling and cool Head Chef Rodney Cabral and his team. Other restaurants in Mumbai doling out Sunday brunches should benchmark themselves with White for quality, service and VFM pricing.
