5 stars to the Sunday Buffet

11 of us decided to try out the Sunday buffet here on the basis of a review by a fellow burrper below.

There have been a couple of negative reviews after that, but I'd really put that down as one off experiences as our earlier visit for a dinner (when they had opened up few months ago) was a great experience too.

Since I'm vegetarian, i can vouch for the vegetarian stuff served.

Each one is allowed selection of one mocktail from the menu provided. There was quite a huge selection of starters, right from two types of bruchetta, salad, pesto stuffed mushrooms (large sized), terrines, sauteed peppers and zucchini, caprese salad (the cheese here was not upto the mark), and baguette slices with broccoli almond pate. There were more items lined up, which I might have tried but do not recollect right now. Two soups, one cold zucchini-creamy soup and a Tuscan bean soup was on selection too.

For the main course, each one could choose from the decent variety of vegetarian (pizza / pasta / risotto / ragout) and non-vegetarian entrees (fish / lamb /chicken).
Among some of us vegetarians we managed to try the two vegetarian pizzas (must mention that each pizza is a 12 inch woodfire oven baked thin crust delicacy), the wild mushroom ragout with polenta, the pasta in basil pesto sauce and the risotto with vegetables in tomato salsa.
This risotto was excellently done, despite not using the usual creamy base and not being loaded with cheese. Strongly recommend it. The vegetable pizza was loaded with fresh vegetables (no skimping here and they were very fresh too).

Though I gave the dessert station a miss, i did try out the figs poached in wine and the fruit tart a taste from the hubby's plate and they were very good too. There were donuts, cream filled donuts, chocolate cake, cookies and lots of other stuff to choose from.

Besides this we ordered some garlic bread, an extra mocktail and some coffee, none of which they charged extra for - which was quite a pleasant surprise. (don't know whether these were thrown in complimentary for the big crowd we went in as).

There was also a cold cuts station, a cheese station and salad bar on the outside section, which I did not taste from.

A special mention must be made about their hospitality, where they offered to make an 'off-menu' maincourse for our patient who was on a heart-friendly diet - they got him a steamed pomfret with broccoli with an excellent sauce on the side. I cannot think of any restaurant's buffet going to this extent to suit a customer's diet preference.

Overall, we spent almost 3 hours within. For 400 bucks per head (EXCLUSIVE OF TAXES), this is a steal of a deal. I'm sure a 12 inch pizza on their a la carte costs as much, so you can imagine what a value for money buffet they have put out each Sunday.

Even if you live in SoBo, you can combine some activities on this side of the suburb with a great meal here, or probably head out to Inorbit mall after the lunch (which is going to take plenty of effort after feasting on such good food). We took around 25 min to drive down from Juhu, so it really itsn't FAR by any measure, especially when such delicious food is at stake.

If you live in the Western suburbs, and if you love good food, go there next Sunday and you wont be disappointed at all!
