A Lounge bar with a difference...
Surely there can't be anything much worse for the laid-back barfly than knocking back a few glasses of the high-spirits after work - sitting right underneath the very building where you have to front up the next morning at 9am.That's great if you want to drink within view of your office.
Actually, even worse would be knowing you can't call in sick if you are hung-over because everyone else from your office would have seen you - and the said high-spirits - the night before.
And so it seems a bit odd that a new bar has opened in govandi,chembur, smack bang underneath a big office block - Sai Cmmercial Building and next to the Spanco Call centre
CAFE XO THE LOUNGE BAR in chembur is a pub for meeting friends and making new ones, not shooting pool or just watching TVs. The scene is folks in their 20s and 30s, sipping cocktails and beer.
the Lounge is a welcome addition to chembur. Too many of the nightlife spots in chembur are pseudo-sports bars where people go to watch TV. Not CAFE XO. It's cool, a bit witty, and inviting, a great combination.
The pub is jumping at all hours with well-groomed professional types, beautiful people, grad students and even an occasional tourist with good taste to venture uaway from the lights of amchi MUMBAI. Friendly, attitude-free, attractive bartenders and stewards entertain with cool, jeweled concoctions such as the blue Kamakaze (vodka, triple sec, blue curacao and lime juice), Belly's button (vodka, archer's peach with a touch of mango and pineapple juice), or Bull Frog (vodka, white rum, gin, tequila, blue curacao and red bull). If you’re too bewildered to get bewitched, their "Cough syrup" promises to make you weak in the knees. The bubbly colorful walls and cunning lighting scheme make even a gin and tonic seem magical.
The quality of cuisine and cocktails, in addition to the premium products stocked behind the bar, is also extremely high, and the staff are constantly working hard to keep it that way
They usually play a good range of music, different than your typical top 10. You get the feeling that you could be wearing any kind of outfit and feel comfortable there--it wasn't a "see and be seen" type of place.
In addition to the lively atmosphere you also have the Hookahs which are the latest craze to hit town. Apart from the usual flavoured ones, they also have the vodka hookahs and the shots hookahs.
If you happen to visit the place during the lazy noon hours between 3ish and 7ish which has been appropriatly named as the NAUGHTY HOURS, you can enjoy the buy one get one free offers on the spirits and also the spot offers.
