Tasty Kashmiri Food
I happened to visit this place yesterday with my family for a dinner.
Looking at the ambiance my first impression was " WoW". The cane chairs, tables & the wooden shikaras for dining looks good along with the well lit lamps inside. There is enough space for everyone & well air-conditioned. I specially liked the shikaras with cushions & curtains makes you feel & dine as if you are in Kashmir & not in Mumbai. They have a portable washbasin (Mughlai style kettle with hot water & a bin to wash our hands before & after the meal). This concept is very impressive. The staff is friendly & good in suggesting what to try. There is a lot written in the menu about KongPoush, Kashmir & the food. Good to read once till your order comes. There is food for everyone ( Veggies, Non-Veggies, Kashmiri Pundits, Kashmiri Muslims etc. ). They have variety of dishes made from Mutton, Chicken, Lamb, Fish for N.Veg. & for Veggies varieties of Paneer, Rajma & Aloo. Before i forget there are Veg & Non-Veg Thalis as well.
OK, so we ordered for Satt Rass (Mutton Soup), Tabakh Maaz & Seekh Kabab for starters. Roganjosh & Maaz Pulav for Main course. Shufta & Phirin for desserts. I felt that the quantity of the food should have been more as compared to the price. Anyways, the food was very tasty , the service was quick & moderately priced. Worth a visit & trying Kashmiri Food.
