Total paisa vasool

If you are looking for the best Raj Kachori in town, Tewari's is your spot.

A tiny very unpretentious place in the corner of a very busy junction, you can spend your whole life passing it by and not realising it was there. But once you go in, you will be hooked to its delicious mithais.

The staff at Tewaris is exceedingly polite and very efficient. If you place your order on the phone for a take away ( which is actually the best option) you will find your stuff packed and ready with a waiter to haul it to your car or taxi.

The samosas are always hot as are the khasta kachoris - crisp outsides with the taste of pure ghee at every bite. I must say that the fillings have slightly reduced but the taste is still the same.

Kaju katri is a "must" for overseas parcels, and Tewari knows how to pack them so that they get past all Custom barriers. And once "over there" their yummy goodness is hard to beat.

Perhaps it is the presence of a priest who is always reading the Gita, or perhaps it is the clean wholesome look but anything from Tewari's acquires the feeling of "bhog" -

A new thing I discovered today was the paneer dhokla. Light and fluffy, it was definitely the best I've had so far!

And the best thing about Tewari is that he is open at 8 in the morning and he accepts Credit cards! So if you want to pick up stuff first thing in the morning, you can do so without getting stuck in the impossible traffic jam that is outside this shop the rest of the day!
