Well I went to the Moti Mahal Delux at Mega Mall...
I presumed that it was the same **excellent** moti mahal (only) at bandra west...
but i was taken in for a ride...
i ordered lachcha paratha and butter chicken for myself
the butter chicken was just tomato puree with bones
i specifically told them to give me boneless chicken, but to no avail..
the lachcha paratha was like dried up cold crap.. i dont know how to express my hatred for this restaurant which would come in my list of the top 10 restaurants!!!

Imagine shopping the whole day and then wanting to eat some good food at a decent place...then Moti Mahal is the place you should stay away from like the plague!
Poor A/C, which amazingly does not tend to work in summers.....
Dull ambience :-(.....staff as no manners and are completely untrained.
We ordered for a chicken tikka masala and a fresh lime soda. Tikka was so-so....& the fresh lime soda was horrible (how could they screw up something so basic?)
Then we decided we were better off not to order lunch...we were then forced to get through whatever we were eating for lunch.
It's better to wait for 20 minutes and get into Pizza Hut opposite Moti Ma-Hell!

Moti Mahal has been my one of my choices for Punjabi food in westerns subrabs. But after they changed their menu recently , its no more a place very often. Instead I will stick to Urban Tadka.
Dal Makhani has lost the magic . Tandori Chicken is still good. so is their kababs. However other veggies have lost that authentic touch, my Veg Kofta (Rs 209) was similar to what you get in an udipi restaurant for less then 60 rs.
Service is average.
Wors part is price . 55 Rs for mineral water , 55 rs for masala papad , average veg dish is 200 plus and non veg is 350 . In this money you can eat in ITC grand maratha or spice in JW Marriot.

It started out as a great place for Mughlai food, but has slowly deteriorated into a run-of-the-mill Indian food joint.
I cannot think of any redeeming point, especially as one expects a certain standard from Moti Mahal, which is sadly lacking.
Extremely mediocre food....I think they are basking in past glory, as evident from the assortment of news paper cuttings framed on its walls, depicting the various dignitaries who've enjoyed Moti Mahal's food & hospitality in the past.
The Saag Chicken we tried seemed to have boiled chunks of chicken tossed into the gravy just before being served, the Malai Chicken starter and a tomato-gravy based vegetarian dish whose name I don't remember were also just about okay, without any distinctive flavour.
They really need to pull up their socks and improve food quality and taste, especially considering the stiff competition from other outlets like Sanskruti and Bombay Blue at Inorbit Malad, which serve far far better Indian food.
This burrper is extremely disappointed :-(

Chicken quality is very good! Must eat Chicken Makhanwala , Chicken Biryani.
Ambience is ok , do not take the table in front of the door it's boring palce to sit and eat.
