Went on a Friday evening at 8 to catch it during its happy hour where they have one drink on the other free. Thats quite a deal, isnt? NOT REALLY.
There are a list of caveats to this deal. No wine or beer other than KF a part of this. No soda is a part of this either. So, we ordered a large antiquity and a large smirnoff vodka and then a second round of small portions. Along with this, we had the veg platter (about 275 bucks) and a portion of garlic bread (70 bucks). The food was alright. The platter was decent, although i would wish they were a little generous with the dips they provided. The mayo based salad/dip appeared cheap and unpresentful. The salsa dip was too less and tasted mediocre. We were also a little disappointed with the soda's that were presented to us in a flask. Not only was the soda flat but also on one occasion the quantity in the flask wasnt full while i was being charged for each one!
Now comes to the main issue i have with this place- Pricing! I wasnt looking at anything cheap to drink at but this place just doesnt deserve this sort of pricing. For two of us with 2 appetizers and a drink and a half each - we paid 2600!! And that too it was a happy hour - so i am not counting the bonus 90 ml of alochol we had. HAd i paid for that, my bill would have been easily above 4k!
I know the taxes are charged by the government but what about rhw service charge? Even if we arent happy with the service, you still expect us to fetch out 10%? I realize that this place averages out to 2k per person including munchies and drinks. For that sorta money i will give you 10 different and better places to enjoy. First one comes to my mind is Hard Rock Cafe. Priced maybe a little lower or same, HRC ambiance and music is 1000 times better and the quality of food there is leap years ahead of FP.
So next time you are at FP, dont be fooled by the alcohol prices listed on the menu - do a quick calc of the menu price + 35% is what you will be paying and ask yourself the question if this place deserves it!
