Reputed for some of the best sweets especially amongst Sindhis with a large variety & quality that keeps everyone going back to them, Tharu Sweets in Khar just lost some regular customers!
So we keep going to them anytime we need to send sweets abroad by the kilos or during festivals & weddings but what we didn't know was that these sweet smelling confections have a stinking attitude behind them!
Crowded on the day before Holi, with a line on one side & a group of people on the other side of the entrance, a staff at the store probably one of the old owners asked my sister what she wanted to buy before she could walk in, while she stood wondering about his manners he explained that he needed to know so he might direct her to the particular side of the entrance. So she told him she needed a kilo of whatever it was & he told her to get in from the left side.
She waited for some women to get done & when it was her turn to place the order one of the staff packing the sweets began to fire her saying, "How did you get here? Get in to the line or you won't get anything? Jaao Yahan se Kuch Nahin Milega" When she tried to explain he continued yelling & asked her to get to the other side with a warning that she wouldn't be given anything if she didn't do so!
Outraged she told him he was rude & she didn't want anything & walked away but the point is that he behaved as if he were giving her ration or free food, this is no way to treat a customer, a regular one at that!
Talk about squeezing the sweetness out of a confection!!
I'd have appreciated it if she would have smacked him on the face but she didn't so I'm hoping burrp! does the bitch slapping!
