    Legendary Indian pop singer, Usha Uthup began her musical career as a night club singer in 1969, and boasts today of a wide and varied listenership. Renowned for her rich resonant voice and feel for rhythm, she is the only Indian musician to have recorded six albums in English with HMV/EMI. A versatile musician and regular performer on AIR and Doordarshan, she sings in more than thirteen Indian and eight foreign languages. Her concert tours have taken her to destinations as varied as the USA, Canada, Europe, South Africa, Russia and Japan. The many awards conferred on her include the Rajiv Gandhi Puraskar for National Integration for quality music and the Mahila Shiromani Puraskar for International Peace.
