Event DetailsWestern Music Recital by Kokila Gillett (Violin) and Pavel Timofejevsky (Piano) at Experimental Theatre. Kokila Gillett was a foundation scholar at the Royal College of Music (RCM), studying for her degree under the tutorship of Dr. Felix Andrievsky. She commenced her violin studies at the age of six at the Junior Guildhall, where she won the 2001 Lutine Prize, and between 1997 and 2002, was a scholar at the Purcell School. She has had master classes with Lewis Kaplan, Levon Chilingirian and the LSO String Principals, reaching the semi-finals of the LSO Scholarship Competition 2002. Pavel Timofejevsky, pianist and composer, graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) in 2006, where after he was invited to perform solo as part of the Shostakovich centenary festival. At RAM, he was awarded the John Ireland Prize, the Michael Head Prize for best accompanist, a special prize at the Jacques Samuels Piano Competition as well as a prize at the Beethoven Society Intercollegiate Competition. He has performed at notable London venues, such as the Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall, and in Europe too.
