Event DetailsA world class, virtuoso percussionist and composer, Trilok has attracted a world class set of collaborators over a long career spanning over 30 years. Starting with John McLaughlin, other jazz greats like Joe Zawinul, Jan Garbarek, Don Cherry, Bill Evans, Robert Miles, Pharaoh Sanders, Dave Holland were all attracted to Trilok's burning sense of rhythm. Deeply rooted in the Indian tradition, collaborations also took place with the glitterati of the Indian musical society - Shobha Gurtu, Zakir Hussain, L. Shankar, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Sultan Khan amongst many others. Trilok Gurtu kick starts his 2009 India Tour with two performances at Blue Frog to abuzz Mumbai with unique rhythms hailing from India to Africa to almost every other part of the World.
