Every year, from the first Saturday of February till the next Sunday, the Kala Ghoda area in South Mumbai comes to life with art and culture. The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF), now in its 15th year, will be held from 2nd to the 10th of February 2013.
Impressive art installations greet you at the entrance as you pass by vibrant stalls from across India selling bespoke clothes, stationery, books, kitschy home decor, paintings, curios, environmental-friendly bags, decorative pottery, saris from different regions, silk scarves, and other artistic ensemble. On the opposite side are food stalls taken up by popular city joints.
This year, the festival will encompass venues like Rampart Row, Horniman Circle Garden, David Sassoon Library, Kitab Khana, Garden of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahlaya, (formerly known as the Prince Of Wales Museum), The Asiatic Library Steps, Coomaraswamy Hall (CSMVS), National Gallery of Modern Art, Max Mueller Bhavan, BNHS, Gallery Beyond, Cross Maidan and the Royal Oaks Banquet Room.
