In the wake of the recent judgement passed by the Supreme Court of India, regarding the restaurants serving alcohol within 500 metres of the highway, we'd suggest that you call the restaurants to ensure whether they serve alcohol before you visit. Thank you.
The décor has always been funky ; an amazingly authentic feel of roadside dhabas, with the walls painted with various pictures of Bollywood stars and highway scenarios. There is even a taxi there! You read me right.
Coming to food, we had ordered Murgh Tandoor. Cooked to succulent perfection with a delicious blend of spices and the pleasantly-absent food colouring. We then moved on to Dum Gosht Biriyani. Fragrant rice, fried onions and spice-marinated chunks of mutton- all came together with such wonderful harmony! We had also ordered Butter Naan and Patiala Kofta. Though the latter was a bit sweet but with the naan, it went very well.
We ended our meal with Kesari Jalebi and Kheer. The jalebi was scrumptious! Absolutely scrumptious!
Today had the worst experience at Mirch Masala, Gariahat. Me and my husband visited the place. During the payment the manager refused to accept Rs. 500 note with some weird reason best known to him. He behaved very badly with us. The most insulting moment was when we were leaving, the manager PARTHO BANIK told us "don't visit the place next time with fake notes". These idiots really should be slapped. A few days ago a similar incident happened here. When a lady customer complained about misbehavior from the manager and waiter of the restaurant, lodged a complaint with police and ultimately the cops taught them a lesson. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE.
