Eating at Bade Miyas is like a 3-innings game.
1st Inning: Novices will try to figure out the centre of the restaurant - to their surprise there is none. Ace's will find bhaijan and pester him for a table. I felt fortuitous to have found a table (actually we shared it with another interesting duo) on a weekend while the Kala Ghoda fest was on.
2nd Inning: You are trying to figure out and get hold of someone to take your order. The captains are busier than you thought! If you want to piss them off, place your order in two parts or dare to make a change.
3rd Inning: This is the best part. Your food arrives in half the time you spent so far, and it will have you engrossed in no time. The Butter Chicken & Bhuna Chicken tasted delectable with the roomali rotis, and the Mutton Seekh Kebabs were luscious. The take-away didn't rock at all: the baida roti had lost its charm, and gravy was parceled in a container meant to hold raita.
Be sure to order at least one portion of kebab and gravy for every hungry person. Remember pissing of the captain with multiple orders? The price to quantity ratio is terrible, but this place will still keep seducing you to come back.
At the end, however confused the place may appear, someone will surely come with your bill and tendering exact change will really save you time.
