  • Overhyped 2012-05-04

The food is okay. It is clearly over-hyped. it is possible they had really great food earlier but the quality has gone down recently. The Chicken Tandoori we ordered was far from good. You do not expect such places to go wrong with a dish like Chicken Tandoori.

The service is awful and you have to be at the mercy of the waiters for your order. You also have to remind them and follow up on your order.

Had expected much better food and service.

  • BADE MIYA 2012-03-25

Bade Miya -the father of all roadside eateries.

Every night after the clock strikes twelve, you will see an army of starving Mumbaikars marching religiously to this famous joint embedded the gallis of Colaba. Though I am vegetarian, I swear by Bades. Paneer kadai with rumali roti along with an ice cold thums up served on the boot of my car equates to the perfect midnight feast.

Bades is world famous for its different types of rolls,Veg Bhuna, Paneer Kadai, Paneer Makhani, impeccable service & of course its mint chutney. They have recently opened a dine in restaurant at Horniman

I wish they give a feed back form like the other hotels and the reviews will make them understand,i dont complain about the sitting facilites or the cleaniness and hygeine part as being a stall u can expect anything lavish

the quantity of food served is so less that ull think they have served u the wrong order i ordered bhuna chicken and was served in a saucer with which i cannot finish one rumali roti no doudb they omlet roti was good and yes the kebab are amazing,

but calling it a foodie heaven is mistake one need to have nig pocket to fill their stomach

Getting to this place in itself will build yr appetite....Its more like just the food there...which is hot, tasty & cheap, Otherwise u basically eat on the bonnet of yr car, makes Hot , tasty rolls at later midnight..post 1...u either eat at 5 Star hotels or this place...
Baida & Bhuna Ghosht rolls are really good...The green mint chutney is to die for.

  • Poor Quantity of food 2012-02-20

I have been visiting this place this place for years and i must say day by day my experience is getting bad.
First it takes half an hour to get a proper place to sit.
Though people complaint about the time taken once you place your order i must say whenever i have visited this place i have got my order quickly.
    Quantity wise its shame now!!!
Butter Chicken worth Rs100 and quantity is just that fits in tea sauccer which get over in just 3-4 bites of roti.
Tate wise its still good but quantity disaapoints yu a lot.

  • Playing a 3 inning game - all for the taste! 2012-02-15

Eating at Bade Miyas is like a 3-innings game.

1st Inning: Novices will try to figure out the centre of the restaurant - to their surprise there is none. Ace's will find bhaijan and pester him for a table. I felt fortuitous to have found a table (actually we shared it with another interesting duo) on a weekend while the Kala Ghoda fest was on.

2nd Inning: You are trying to figure out and get hold of someone to take your order. The captains are busier than you thought! If you want to piss them off, place your order in two parts or dare to make a change.

    3rd Inning: This

  • Pathetic place 2012-02-12

No doubt about the fact that its must have been good some where in the past but sadly it has lost all it's quality and taste. Visited this place on Saturday night and as expected, the place was completely packed.
At peak hours hygiene becomes a big issue here as one can easily see the cook serving cooked food just after touching raw meat with same hand. We ordered chicken tikka, bhuna chicken, butter chicken and paneer tikka for my veggie friend. Waiter, without asking us, came with two chicken bhuna as butter chicken was not available. Paneer tikka was raw and looked like paneer coated with
