Big Sandwich Company (no relationship to reliance whatsoever ;) )
With a lot of expectations I grabbed the 1st opportunity to give it a try. So today, for my evening dose of snacks I went to check out Big Sandwich Company.
Okay...First Thumbs up to the Guys - Vishal & Nimesh for this venture & a few Innovative ideas. Perfect location, right next to Sathaye College, ideal business venture. But theres more to a Food place than just location.
BUT...Yes, the big usual but...
The Veg. Grilled Sandwich (50/-) was HARDLY grilled. Cold. vegetables raw, Bread too soft. BUT.. the added seasoning on top added a good flavour.
The chocolate milkshake.. (20/- Rs.). HOT, not at all cold, too little in quantity, hardly 180 ml. Glass too flimsy too. BUT was
happy to know they use Amul Taaza Tetrapack Milk!
The Margherita Sandwich (45/-) - yummmy.... Cheese, not 1 but 3 different types, melting in your mouth, with a soft bread, garnished with special ingredients.... awesome. nice concept.
I am yet to try the famous Chocolate Sandwich, will definitely do it soon & add this review.
They had no fridge or Chiller whatsoever.
1/4th items on the menu are yet to be introduced since they just opened 6 days ago.
The Green chutney had turned a shade of dark green/black.
The Ketchup was too thin.
Also... the Ambience is really nothing much to write about, but will serve ideal for college crowd.
Hygiene is very good, but cleanliness of the overall place needs to be improved.
Service, good, since both the guys are all hands on & very courteous, well mannered, eager & sweet.
Pricing: ideal for a college hang out joint. Very reasonable.
Conclusion: Lots of potential, promising stuff...but a Long way to go if it wishes to join the ranks of Lucky, Snowman's, Pankaj, Sai Sagar etc. in terms of grilled sandwich.
