  • Celeb conscious, but good food!

    First things first, my review of 3 stars is not for the food or the ambience, they're both excellent. Its for the "Celeb conscious" service (or lack of it).

    Due to their reputation from the one in town and their location - its frequented by many a wannabe. When I went there, I was refused a table inside - none was available apparently, I could see a couple empty, they said they were being cleaned, I could sit outside and wait for some time.

  • not bad...

    Basilico has always had good food. I had problems with the arrogant service but it seems after the renovation, the waiters have also been renovated. The service has truly improved - atleast they're more attentive to the outdoor section now.
    When I went there recently I called for ice tea which was just like ice tea should be. Also called for stir-fried vegetables with cous cous...it was quite good but a bit too salty.
    I think they've changed the design of the menu card but really not sure if they've added any new items. Must make a mention of the pricing -- very very reasonable!

  • Ants in My Iced Tea

    I have been to Basilico at least 4-5 times, and it typically delivers a good-mediocre meal with mediocre service. This time I ordered a berry iced tea and to my surprise there was a lot more then wild berries swirling around in my cup. I had been slurping up chunks of berry for the first 10 minutes, but then went in something crunchy. After I spit it out it out I noticed it had legs. After being terrified for a moment, I took a look at the bottom of the cup and there were what looked to be berries at the bottom but it was hard to see.
