Avg Food, Brilliant Desserts 2012-05-08
Went last week.. Have been visiting ever since the place opened. Very regular for desserts & breakfast since many many yrs. Iv never come across a place which so many & such good desserts.
Im a huge fan of the Blueberry cheesecake / Walnut Pie / Baked Cranberry Cheesecake.. and now my fav is their Choc Cheesecake.. beats all the others !!
But I must say the quality of the food is going down.. didnt want to have the regular tomato soup & penne paprika.. tried an aglio olio sandwich / pesto risotto / mashed potatoes.. the sandwich was decent.. pesto didnt taste anything like before... read more -

its a small,, quiet place. the interiors r just right.. the food was GREAT !! kinda pricey though ..i didn't have any prob with the service.. overall a good experience.. -

I will keep it simple. The ambiance is is whatever. The service is horribly slow, the waiters dont pay much attention to your needs. But the food is the savior. Fresh and tastes great. Is it worth spending Rs 500/head at Basilico? No. Never again. -

This place is a combination of good ambiance, great food and good service. 3 pluses for this place are: excellent menu selection, friendly service and cozy seating. Pastas are truly commendable.And my first try at cous-cous served with stir fired soy and ginger with a side of roasted tomato and basil soup was the highlight of the evening. -

There is nothing interesting about Cafe Basilico's ambiance (at least the Colaba outlet) which even if you choose to ignore, you need something more strong to take a liking for the place. The menu is interesting from the point of view that it offers some European cuisines that are unique, but does not justify the price for the portion, which stems from the fact that the idea on which this restaurant is made is very pretentious. And that's precisely why it is difficult to fall in love with Cafe Basilico. In other words, you won't lose an experience if you give this restaurant a miss. -

The restaurant serves great food, but the service was horrendous. Wanted to try this place after reading the reviews but was very disappointed all thanks to the service.. I was seated at a table which had to be cleaned, it wasn't until I asked for it. I had to ask the waited for more than 3 times to serve water. When I asked for Olive oil with the bread, it was served without a plate. And when I asked him what was there for desert, he actually asked me to check it out at the counter. Loved the tast of the food but I don't think I'l visit again. Cafe Churchill is way better, both in terms of price... read more -

Situated in colaba. This is one of the finest Coffee & Conversation place
New York cheese cake is simply wow.
The sautéed mushrooms are perfectly spiced.
The penne in creamy sauce is delicious.
Cafe latte is well prepared. Just the way I like it.
Service is exemplary
Smiling & well informed stewards. -

Very New York feel to this cafe.
Great coffees & desserts.
Choc ecstasy & cafe latte is my fav combo here.
Friendly service.
Tried the chilli garlic bread & red sauce pasta the last time.
Highly recommend this place to all the soboites wanting a chilled out experience at good vfm prices.

me n my friend went to Case Basilico after attending the kala ghoda festival. I was very keen to go here after reading the reviews. Well, lets just say that it lived up to the expectations. We ordered belinise mushroom which came with lemon mayo. it was lovely. The mushrooms were soft & went really well with the lemon mayo. Then We ordered Pot roast of Lamb shank. O boy.. It was sooooo awesome!!!! The flavors were out of the world. too bad we were in a rush and couldnt spend more time & have dessert but the chesscake in the display looked yummy to tummy!!!

Awesome Value for Money 2010-10-06
Though it may be small and cannot accommodate too many patrons during peak times, this restaurant has taken me by surprise of late. The food selection is still limited when compared to Moshe or even Indigo deli, but value for money meals and awesome taste that each dish has cannot be ignored.
Great pastas, the availability of eggs during anytime of the day, decent breads from the bakery and equally tasty desserts make this a must visit location. -
