  • Just love this sleepy cute place! 2012-02-13

even if they don't have half the wines which are mentioned on the menu, i really do forgive them...they more than make it up with the ambience, great food and the value for money rates! I don't mind going to this place every second weekend - it's simply a delightful place!

  • IVY - IVOTE for you!!!!! 2011-09-11

    If its wine its IVY!!!

The minute you enter the place and have a look at the menu, you know this is THE place for wines. Decently priced (the cheapest comes for a mere Rs 100), well-stocked (domestic and imported), neatly placed in shelves attached to the walls; this place is a haven for wine enthusiasts. The decor and ambiance is bright and repeatedly reminds you of the origins of wine and the wine variants.

The food is good too. Highly recommended - Onion rings, Thai Chicken Curry, Jamaican Chicken Wrap, Fish n Chips and Potato wedges. However, the pastas are not impressive.

  • Diving into Ivy misery. 2011-08-23

I have heard so much about this place and this place was what I would call a Massive disappointment. I went here on a weekday evening and as we were entering, the waiter stopped us, pointed us to a waiting table and said 'there'. That slightly put me off as that is absolutely no way to treat a guest. We waited nonetheless and decided to place our order. We went through the wine list and you will not believe this, they didn't have any of the wines we ordered. We gave them six substitutes, which they didn't have either. To add to this, the staff kept sneering all the time and looked impatient. Like... read more

  • But for the Smokescreen, 2011-07-29

I visited the place with a friend for a post-work, relaxing dinner. They dont do reservations, which is a bummer given that its located in an office area where executives would like to ensure a table before dropping in en masse for a post-work dinner and heading out home in far flung suburbs. There was a queue for the tables and we got ours after about 20 minutes of waiting.
The good thing was that we could order and enjoy our wines in the waiting queue. There was a variety of wines, though some of our choices from the menu were unavailable. They serve by the glass and the price was modest.

Dear Kaleidscope, thanks for your above comments, all the contents are well noted. Regarding "No reservation" it's our cafe policy. We serve "first come -first basis". You saw the waiting queue yourself, in this situation the customer starts fighting if we block the table for the reservation guest.

Regarding your comments for "Tiramisu" I will definatly look into this matter. I personally regret if you got this food product that bad. We will work out the better receipe for this product for sure.

Appreciate your prompt response. If everyone is required to come with a reservation, there should not be any fight for the seats, isn't it? I would leave it as a recommendation to your management to consider reservation policy at least for part of the Bistro.

The smoking policy as you explain it makes me wonder if you are running a Monsoon Smoking Shelter or selling food and wine?? The law of the land requires all restaurants and bars in the country to be smokefree and its not a matter of choice or discretion your end as you suggest. For the same reason, you can not require non-smoking...read more

  • Nice place 2011-04-08

I visited Ivy at Worli last night with my wife. While the ambience and music was nice, the friendliness of the mosquitoes was a bit overwhelming! I was pleasantly surprised by the choice of wines, but unfortunately, the first 3 wines I ordered from the menu were not available. The waiter had no idea about wines, and was ready to chill a red wine for me! On top of that, I had to put my finger on the wine I wanted, so that he could write it down correctly.

Apart from that, the food was really good, even though I ordered only vegetarian. Serving water and giving an extra dish and fork should

Hi Amogh. Thanks for the quick response. One other thing I wanted to ask you is why does Ivy serve white wine and red wine in the same glass?

    Dear Rushabh,

    Hello,

First of all thank you for your revert & query. Your are right traditionally White wine should go in a smaller glass & red wine in a big (wide mouth) glass. However at Ivy we insist on giving the consumer the Fresh, Young & Healthy experience of wine rather than being too traditional. The benefit of wide mouth glass is you can enjoy the maximum wine aroma & complete bouquet during your sip; regardless of varietal of wine. Hence we use same big glass for white, red & Rose wine. Only in case of sparkling wine we use Champagne Tulip so that the natural effervescen...read more

  • My Favorite Place 2011-03-02

ivy is and will be one of my favorite places in Mumbai, whether its the amazing breakfast especially the french toast and capuccino for a lazy morning, or the fine collection of red wine and pastas, although some of the food on the menu is dreadful but once you are a regular you figure out the safe dishes.

Okay this is one of my favourite places in Mumbai, esp if you a wine person! A Fine wine collection and a good italian meal to go with it. Like their ambience, cozy, small, a little dark, perfect for lazy afternoons, a bottle of white wine and long conversations. Their food menu is limited, especialy if you are a vegetarian, but for me Ivy is more about the wine than the food.

  • Who are you catering to? 2010-12-22

I visited Ivy last evening for a casual business meeting. I have always been fond of the concept at Ivy, which is an affordable cafe that serves reasonably priced wine. I don't have much to complain about with the food and the wine.

The issue that I have is how the atmosphere of the restaurant has changed and management's unawareness. While you find many professionals from the surrounding offices here for lunch or post work, there were a few groups of college students who were there treating it more like a bar. The music was turned up way too loud to have a normal conversation and I when
