We decided to go there on a bustling Saturday evening, after checking out reviews and its locational advantage. We walk in and the ambiance seems petite but friendly...4 stars. We get a cozy table for two... all good thus far. Drinks - avg menu, and beware a lot of listed spirits are "list-only". No worries... Starters time...stale bread served with cheese poppers. We complain.. the dude insists (mark my words.. he insists), that it is fresh. We insist back and he microwaves them and puts them back on our plate. 3 stars....cheese poppers were average, no subtle or burgeoning flavor. We move on.. and wait the drinks never came and we had to yell again. Pasta time. Good Fusilli, good flavors, we stay put. Dessert time - we asked for specialty and we were advised warm brownie with a scoop of vanilla...was surprised since it is served almost everywhere..so how it differentiates Cafe Mangii. Anyway, we ordered, a loooong wait pervades, place begins to bustle, waiters rush past, we are completely ignored...along with some more of the tables. Dessert comes, cold and hard brownie. We complain, request warm - the waiter says -this is how it is. One star. We wait for the bill (loong wait again) and walk out with bitterness (and chewy aftereffects of brownie). Never go - Mumbai deserves better and we do tooo...
