I've had heard so much about Candies that I was glad to finally make my way there last Saturday. The place is really tiny and cute. They have a self-service counter indoors with endless food options on display from lasagna and sandwiches to curries with roti/rice. And let's not forget lip-smacking desserts like cheese cake, tarts, pastries and chocolates. Drinks on offer are iced tea, fresh lime with strawberry crush, cold coffee (supposed to be the best), etc. You basically order, pay and carry your tray to one of the 4 tiny tables on the porch outside. (This outlet is essentially for take aways).
We called for prawn curry rice, a chicken sandwich and two fresh limes which came up to about Rs. 195. I ordered a mac n cheese which came with garlic bread and a Russian sala - Rs. 100. The food was fresh and tasted excellent! Couldn't have asked for anything better. Well... perhaps there could have been more options for the vegetarians. A chocolate tart for dessert priced at Rs. 30 put a perfect end to the meal.
Now that I've been inducted to the world of Candies, I can't wait to keep going back. Will try the other two outlets while I'm at it and write back...
