  • Beware of Staff 2011-11-25

Poor service! The staff is indifferent and even rude at times. Who wants to deal with that kind of behaviour? Whew! They need to be trained. The interior is very dull and the service is slow. If they improve their service and inculcate an attitude of hospitality towards guests, they would do guests a favour.

As for the food and beverage, the tea is pre-made. The coffee is no big deal either. The pizza is nice!

  • Just Another Chai Shop 2011-11-14

Went to this place last week nothing new or unique about this place.. Half cooked watery omelet.. As this place is known chai-coffi its chai is also not worth trying.. Above all the staff was also not good at service a side table women ordered to shut down AC and they shut the whole freaking AC making this place hot like hell. Weird but true one person can control all Ac what a selfish work done by the staff.. I wont recommend anyone as per our experience ..

  • One portion of Tap Water coming up 2011-10-29

So my wife goes there to have a coffee.... and asks for some water to drink. The Manager says that there is no regular water, and you will need to buy a 'Bisleri'... so my wife told him - its against the rules, a restaurant needs to serve water to its patrons - their view was - that they have Bisleri - and thats only for cookiing. So finally after much debate they got her water - which had a look that read in a neon sign - this is tap water.

  • Much better than some on here make it out to be 2011-09-08

I've been to Chai Coffi twice, and the first thing that strikes you when you enter is that it is a bit different to every other reasonably mainstream coffee shop you will experience. Cafe Coffee Day and Barista offer an alright experience on the whole, but it doesn't feel like you're enjoying something of an experience. The closest I came to that was Gloria Jeans, and even then it wasn't all that. That said, I do rate Gloria Jeans as the best true blue coffee joint.

I digress though. The reason my train of thought seemed to be derailed was this; the ambience at Chai Coffi is very classy,

  • Eh. Really? 2011-04-06

I just went to Chai Coffi over the weekend and I wasn't too impressed.

    - For one, it's expensive.
    - The interiors are similar to Basilico eg. the purple walls (no points for creativity to Farhan Azmi).
    - Regular food and desserts (P.S. surprised and slightly excited to see Almarai cream cheese inside the display counter).
    - The waffles were slightly stale.
    - Regular capuccino (I prefer GJ's).
    - Okay panini wrap (aubergine and mozzarella).
    - Total price for a sandwich, cappuccino, waffles, ice tea = Rs 555

The atmosphere was very average. I got restless

  • sad baristas gone... 2011-03-06

was so looking forward to this place, but so disappointed to see it, that i didnt even bother to try it

such a great location has been walled up like a prison, & with that, they've killed the whole vibe of the earlier barista

i'd thought they'd open up the back wall facing the sea with a glass, too, but it's all closed & stuffy

hope the basilico owners are listening, & can at least get the old vibe back to the place by opening it up
