  • Can turn carnivores into herbivores 2012-04-07

Excellent for Rajasthani and Gujrati, attempt at Maharashtrian cuisine not as successful. Best: sabzi deewani, bharwan simla mirch, sev-tamatar ka saag. Try the exotic rotis. Evening snacks also very good, specially Jaipuri tikki and chaat. On weekends, great jalebis.

  • A regular haunt for authentic veg food 2012-04-06

Well, we have mostly been there for the lunch - which is centered around various kinds of thalis.

Food is good, quite satisfactory to the tastebuds. Service is also quick and efficient.

One word of advice- better to go on empty stomach. As they've unlimited offerings, it'll spoil you to eat more.

  • OK Thali with lots of Foreigners visiting! 2011-12-14

Food Quality & Variety of Items were Average. for Gujarati Thali
    Good Points:
    Kadhi & Dal Were excellent
Cutlets, Dhokla & Pakoras were good.
    Shrikhand was Nice
    Gulab jamun was good.
Rotis were hot & soft , Very good.
    Did not like:
Fansi Tokli (French bean) was tasteless & colorless
Aloo Subji with lots of Garlic
    Palak Channa was below average
Chutny - Raita were old & smelly

Not worth the hype created, only advantage to them is lots of foreigners visiting. also, visit the restaurant for local flavor of food.

  • A bite of Rajasthan! 2009-10-12

I went to this restaurant with my family after a very long interval. I have always had great memories of this place. We opted for the Rajasthani Thali. The ambience of the place is lovely with Gujarati and Rajasthani decor all around. A puppet show had just finished and they were dismantling the stuff as we entered. I felt sorry that we had missed that! The service is nothing short of excellent with the waiters attentive but not crowding you.
The food was amazing. There were three vegetables, all with unique flavours. The dal and kadhi were yummy. They served the bhati separately and we could

  • Served straight from Jodha Akbar! 2009-08-27

Wow...I must start with this word! It was one and half years back I have been to this restaurant and since then I have never missed a single chance to savour the food at Chetana! I am loyally 'biased' towards its famous Dal Baati Thaali. I would recommend this at any hour of day and night! To start with an option of having Jal Jeera or Butter Milk with Boondis immersed in it. As a case with normal thaali, they do serve the starters. Then comes different form of Indian breads..roti, rotalas, baajara roti, puran poli etc. Special mention for the sabzis....Rajasthani thaali must have Ker Sangri (Spec... read more

  • Awesome Rajasthani thali!! 2009-01-27

I guess i have to admit that their rajasthani is the best thali that i have had in Mumbai!! Well it had d fav daal-baati, their chilka daal (man, it reminded me of my mom... it was dat tasty!!), their makkai corn & drinks like kairy pani, chaas... its best to go there 4 lunch & that too on an empty stomach.. i had a heavy breakfast earlier in d mrng so cudnt taste everything that they served there... nd mind u after the meal at ~3pm, my bet is that u wont b able to ve dinner!! (Cost would be Rs.285 per thali)
Their service is far better than Rajdhani.... they have d option of gujarati & mahara
