  • Best Chinese Food in Town 2012-05-04

If its good Chinese Food, its China Garden. No other place can come to my mind when it comes to Chinese cuisine !

Your sure of what your gonna get & it never disappoints.

Being a vegetarian, I always know what Im going to order here.. Dont really try anything different. Had a couple of different soups & quite a number of starters.. Steamed Wantons / Mushrooms / Spring Rolls / Saute Veggies & ofcourse the Paneer is the best if you can take spicy food !

The main course is the usual Noodles, Manchurian, Veg. Schezwan & Rice ! Good but could be better I feel.

  • Terrible 2011-10-28

A very disappointing lunch yesterday. Nothing of the past seems to be there any more: the service, the food, the gentleness.
A total waste of money going there.
All our super memories of the original China Garden will now remain only memories.

  • AWEFUL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT 2011-04-18

I used to be a fan of this restaurant until a few of my recent visits have made me rethink. The experience I had today was absolutely garish to begin with. I ordered for chau su prawns and wasabi fish for starters two soups and sapo chicken with fried rice for the main course for 3 people. The soup was average to begin with but the prawns were extremely cold and dry ( they were supposed to be hot and crispy) and served without any sauces. On a request for shezwan sauce i was told i would have to pay Rs 120 extra for it and was offered tomato ketchup instead. But that was still ok. What really got... read more

  • One of the better chinese restaurants 2010-08-24

I do miss the old glory of China Garden and Piano Bar but I guess everything changes eventually. Thank God thats not the case with the food at China garden. I still make it a point to either dine in or take out food from here atleast thrice a month and have not been disappointed yet.

Their service is superb and they are always ready to accommodate request for modified dishes.

    Keep it up guys.

  • Best Chinese Ever! 2010-08-04

I have been living in the UK for a year now. And that's the exact amount of time since my last visit to China Garden. The craving for good Chinese has taken over and there's absolutely nothing in this country that even comes close to Mumbai's haven for Chinese food...

I'd do anything for a portion of veg teppan soba noodles, steamed wantons and paneer in red pepper. And the corn starter!

Oh China Garden! I love you, I can never get enough of you, and I can't wait to come back to feast on you! I'm sure the next few months will be difficult, but well worth the wait...

  • Brilliant! 2010-02-02

CG-83 has always lived up to its name, come what may. It is amongst the top 3 Chinese restaurants in the city and serves excellent vegetarian starters. They cater to all tastes and since they have shifted back to Om Chambers (Kemps Corner) from Crossroads, the food has become how it used to be when CG first started. It is a little expensive, but its worth it..

  • Grew up eating here! 2009-10-22

Although there are many complains about this place going downhill and so on so forth. You actually need to know what to order here. So if your a non-vegatarian...read carefully as to what to order: You must get the Chicken in 1000 chillis, the fish with ginger power steamed for 90 seconds and the yummy soy chilli prawns. If your still not satisfied, you can't speak english.lol...love the food excellent staff...and way to go Nelson!

  • Downhill and how... 2009-04-02

I used to frequent China Garden as a kid and had many fond memories of it. Never went after it moved to Crossroads and back. So I had a lot of expectations when I went.

There are 2 sections. The outside and inside. For the inside you need to have a reservation since its usually full. We had a reservation but somehow ended up early and hungry so decided to eat out and then move in. The outside section is open air so quite hot.

Ambience: I like what they have done with the inside though the outside there remains much to be desired. I expected a quieter place but it was kind

  • What's the big deal? 2008-10-08

I visited this place after a few people recommended it, calling it "the best chinese food anywhere".

At the end of my meal, I was left with the singular feeling of "eehhhh". It was over-hyped and over-priced, and didn't justify the crowds or the reviews. Could it be that it's simply running on its past laurels and the pretentious of Mumbaikars?

We ordered soups, appetizers, a main course, with the recommendations of our waiter, so it wasn't like we ordered the worst stuff on the menu.

The Mun Chow and Hot and Sour Soups were, to put it kindly, bland. Was the chef
