Try the Lunch Buffet 2012-02-20
There were some interesting and unique items on the dessert buffet. Apart from Ice Cream, brownie and honey noodles there were crispy pancakes stuffed with date mixture. It is the little rectangular piece at bottom of the plate. The best part was that the desserts weren’t too sweet.
Why China Gate has a buffet with a difference? It gives a Ala Carte quality food even in its buffet spread.
Ambience: Good 7/ 10
Value For Money: Very Good 8/ 10

It was a pre-valentine lunch on Monday afternoon, felt more romantic because it was unexpected and an adorable gesture by A. No, I didn’t pay that bill but I was still excited by how much food they fit in under 500 bucks per person with good service and good ambience. This Chinese fine-dining restaurant has an interesting wine list. The buffet included a complimentary glass of wine. We got our privacy and it was a quiet, pleasant lunch at China Gate. I really had a very very bad experience at the China Gate... i had been to this place twice. From my first experience it seemed a decent place, so tried the second time. But this time it was pathetic. I went with a friend for lunch. There was a buffet available and it seemed quite costly so we thought to order ala carte. But the waiter was trying to force us to have buffet and said it would take very long for ala carte. In spite of that we ordered. the food came much later than told by these guys.To add to the frustration was the taste, it was pathetic.

the worst chinese food that i would have ever had...
the honey crispy lamb was like fried lamb with honey lumped at the base of the container and the dish would probably not even been called chinese, it tasted that bad..
the shanghai noodle rice combination is a disaster. The chefs in shanghai would be probably turning in their graves or wanting to get into one...
the chilli garlic chicken dish, or whatever they'd like to call it, (the taste would change).........most terrbile/aweful/pathetic.............................................

Their maincourse is good, not very happy with the starters, we ordered a few chicken starters and they kind of tasted the same.
Prefer to dine at Aromas of China whenever we are at andheri than china gate. -

fried wantons , thread paneer ,
budha's delight , ginger & capsicum fried rice ,
corn & mushroom fried rice ...and the list goes on..!!
The much awaited buffet didnt stand the high expectations...though...!!
tip : A reservation made in advance helps..!! if u wana avoid the waiting in the "Q"...

I have been here atleast 5 times already.
Service: Excellent
Food: Tasty
Ambiance: Superb!!
Price: slightly on the higher side. But really worth it.
The service makes you feel special and the food is very tasty. My two year old daughter enjoys the food here and that for me makes this place top notch.
Those who have not tried this place, need to visit atleast once. -

Grt ambience, very good service, good crowd n ofcrse lip smacking food..!

Kung pao Chkn/Prawns/Paneer
Chkn in Black bean sauce
Momos (veg/chkn/prawns)
Coriander Pot Rice
Lotus Leaf rice (Awsme preparation..nice frangrant rice..too yummy)I guess its off d menu dish
Flat Honey noodles
Do give a try to ths place if u wanna hve good chinese at reasonble rate..!!!! -

been to the buffet on saturday... really very good for 450 bucks with unlimited beverage and seafood
the menu had tiger prawns and crab, squid etc... really good lemon grass rice with chicken pot curry, momos , tempura ... and a good variethy of desserts ... global fusion is definetely better because the number of items and starters are more ... here the main course is better, good soup but i could see the shocked expressions of the waiters when i was loading tiger prawns onto my plate... so sorry honeys im not those vegetarians who gets full on noodles.... eat well get your moneys worth -
