Replacing the infamous Has Juice Bar in Bandra, the international dessert chain Cinnabon has opened its first outlet. With restaurants like Cafe Basilico and 5 Spice in the neighbourhood, our expectations from this one were quite high.
With a small outside section comprising of three tables, we were disappointed to see that there was not enough seating space on offer. The inside section had a huge counter displaying the freshly prepared Cinnabon rolls and a kitchen at the end of the counter. As we entered, we were given a MochaLatta Chill shot, a perfect chilled blend of Chocolate and coffee, to taste. Going forward, we decided to call for our Cinnabons and as we looked at the counter, we were pleasantly surprised to see some freshly prepared rolls doling out into the trays. We ordered for the Minibon Classic which is priced at Rs 65 and for a Mini Caramel Pecanbon which is priced at Rs 85. Along with those, we also called for a Lemon Mint Mojito which cost Rs 80.
The Classic was a base of warm dough filled with cinnamon and topped with cream cheese frosting. The Pecanbon, similarly, was filled with cinnamon but topped with pecans and caramel instead. Lemon Mint Mojito was extremely disappointing as almost 3/4th of it was filled with ice, which left us craving for more. However the irresistible Cinnabons made up for the shoddy ambience and the below par Mojito. They were soft, fresh and delicious, although would’ve taster better if heated a little more.
Overall, Cinnabon is an absolute pleasure if you opt for a take-away. Conversely, if you wish to enjoy a finer evening outdoors, skip this one, as the tiny section and the traffic honks are quite a spoiler.
