Having been a lover of cinnabons while I was in Bahrain, I was excited to know that Cinnabon has opened outlets in Mumbai. I actually recommended a friend who likes cinnamon flavor, to try em out (on the basis of the ones in Bahrain) EVEN before I did. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to visit this place earlier, I managed to last weekend after a food dinner at Soul Fry.
What an disappointment! I'll tell you why:
I know what the original cinnabons should taste like and the ones available here were FAR from it. We ordered a chocolate minibon and an original minibon.
1. The original bon is NOT supposed to have a vanilla cream topping.
2. Neither were heated properly. Cinnabons are supposed to be heated to the right temperature so they become soft. After i had a bite, I had to ask the attendant to re-heat for 15 seconds more.
3. Despite re-heating sufficiently, they were hard (chewy) and did not cut easily. They had probably lost their texture since we went there around 11 pm but in the Middle East, cinnabons are mostly made fresh( 2-3 hours old at best) and the ones here were probably made in the morning. A big thumbs down
4. While I know that Indians are the largest consumers of sugar, these bons were WAYYY TOO sweet than what they should be. The chocolate bon was ok but the original/vanilla/whatever it was, was unbearably sweet.
Don't think I'll go here again (not in India for sure).. Can't wait to eat cinnabon in Bahrain though .
