  • getting worse each time 2011-10-31

CC at phoniex where i am a regular is really going down in service and food quality.
Went there for dinner on sat night and got greeted by a lovely/smiling hostess Bharti. After that it was all downhill. The table was smelling and not cleaned properly. The service was so prompt that one felt like the dishes were probably half prepped for a fast turnover. The Chelo kabab had not taste and butter. The butter chicken wa just a tomato puree. The server poured the kali dal in our katoris like a waterfall, spilling it all over. Lastly when we got the bill they charged us Rs 75 for kachumber with

  • worst restaurant in mumbai for service. do not try 2011-08-21

Worst no 1 place in Mumbai!!. Even if they give you money n serve you food, do not venture? For them customers are dogs n that's how they treat them? Would you go to a place where the waiter tells you to return the menu when you are reading it? Would you go to a place where you need to tell the waiters to serve cold water n explain them how to make water cold? After food is brought to the table, we had to tell them to serve it. N they say 10% service charge. High looting. Finger bowl has ice cold water here, hats off to the hotelier who taught these bunch of idiots. N all this when there were only... read more

  • Awesome Punjabi Festival 2011-05-06

Had gone to this place for lunch on a Thursday with office colleagues - We ordered from their newly launched punjabi festival menu. My colleagues who were non-vegetarian had an absolute treat as they were feasting on all the food.
The vegetarian selection in the festival menu was also very good with a good range of starters, curries, rotis and even desserts - and very authentic as well.
I definitely will go again and am awaiting the next festival.
I've always had my standard dishes when I go to this restaurant - but now I will have something else to look out for when I'm there. 5 stars

I am sure this place is not managed by the J k kAPUR GROUP. My lunch at the Phoenix and a dinner party at the worli party room of Copper Chimney were poles apart.

The Phoenix place boasted of a packed room but god knows why! The signature butter chicken at whopping price of 340+10sc was a total disappointment . The 'captain' first took our order and came back with the plates closely held to his chest(yuck), the meal was served with his thumb inside the dish and if that didnt do it, his sleeves were brushing against the naans. To add insult to injury he charged us for 2 chickens instead

  • Sad but true....... 2010-12-16

What if I tell you that you have to wait a long long time to get a place, then finally get into the cramped place, wait again long time and ultimately end up with very average food (masquerading as authentic mughlai/pashtun cuisine) - all to look at the great central copper lights that the renovation has added; what would you call me?

Wait, I already know. There is only one reason why people would want to go to this place, and that is cause the other options in Phoenix are worse, even more expensive or fast food.

Barring that I can't think of any other reason. If that's what

  • Veg Kheema -- Brilliant! 2010-02-20

Veg Kheema + Two tandoori roti + One laccha paraantha = Wallet minus Rs 369 = Stomach content with a scrumptious meal = Me happy :)

    Veg kheema is brilliant!

Having one veg curry main course + rotis at Copper Chimney is infinitely better than having anything at the overpriced food court opposite PVR.

We are still at it: our culinary expeditions. The two of us were really hungry after "Wake up Sid" and decided to dine at Copper Chimney. This place shares space with the much larger Sphagetti Kitchen with seating for around 40 in a sharply done chic interior.

We started with fabulously cooked 'Chicken Chaap' and had Lamb curry with Ghee rice for the main course. The Lamb was so super succulent and we were knocked on the right locations on our taste buds. The damage was 770 for a couple and thats not that bad at all.

Now I think I had also like to try the one in Worli next
