I now know what keeps places like Corleone alive. Its other reviewers on this page who have been generous in their approval and fulsome in their praise. Or maybe, in addition to having tastes far different than my own, they belong to an income bracket which at once blurs their sense of value, taste and quality. Less of that......

I took nothing away from Corleone save a check which may have fed a family for about half a month. Even more relevant is the fact that even inspite of wanting to be objective, there is nothing positive which I can derive from any aspect of my visit. My wife

  • A great experience 2010-10-01

The ambience is perfect, the service is attentive and the food is tasty with good helpings. This is what I can quickly encapsulate about Corleone.
The restaurant has an extensive wine list of which I chose the Sula Brut wine, which was nice, fruity and fizzy.
The shrimp bisque was a letdown and tasted more like tomato soup. However the accompanying shrimp wafers were nice and crunchy.
The Norwegian pink salmon on a bed of lettuce was succulent and well cooked. We even had a grilled chicken pot pie pizza, which was ok.
What struck me about this place was the generous servings.

  • V.Good Midnight Buffet 2008-06-09

One of my fav spots to hang out after partying around in south mumbai. Its midnight buffet is a little different than the ones at other high end places where they offer all sorts of cuisines and many of them been cooked hours before. At Corleone, thier midnight buffet consits of 5-6 salads, a soup, and fresh cooked thin crust pizzas.
The soup we had - Tomato and Basil was one of the best I have ever had. The salads were good - although they can add a lot more variety to this counter. The pizzas were top notch (I add this to my best pizzas in town list with Karma & Penne). Too add to it - the

Wanted to go to Dome but unfortunately there was some private party there so ended up at Corleone. Like the decor, very classy. The also has an instrumental live band playing.

They serve a bread basket with a paste of sundried tomatoes, chilli, garlic and olive oil. It was simply divine. Was also astonised to see whole wheat pasta and whole wheat margerita. Ordered a minestrone soup, margerita and wholewheat penne arrabiata.

The soup arrived instantly after we had ordered it. I know most of the stuff is often kept prepared but doesn't mean they need to remind us like this.

Well, it was a disaster. got in around 10.30 last night for a quickie meal.

Minestrone was below average, thicky, tomato heavy, not enough veggies.

    Stuffed Mushrooms, good as always.

Ortolana - absolutely bland. Had no taste, no matter how much salt i added. Almost had to ask for ketchup.

    Overall a terrible meal.

Got 2 x Lemon Neres which were great.

Now i had to pay 1600 bucks for this. which in my opinion is money better spent on eating dirt.

The service was friendly, quick and apologetic. However, i dont think

  • so-so Italian fare in town 2007-05-03

The Interconti on Marine Drive sports some pretty awesome venues - Czar Bar and the Dome itself are the pride jewels of the hotel, but I can't go as far for Corleone, their signature Italian restaurant. The ambiance is simply fantastic, what you would expect from an Italian place anywhere else in the world; classy, romantic, and cozy. The service was a bit slow and I had to order my fresh orange juice twice before it actually showed up.

The main disappointment of the night was the actual food. I can't say that anything I tried here really tasted like the hearty Italian I was expecting

The big man and I had walked up to Pizza Express at Veer Nariman only to find it has dissapeared. In the mood for Italian, but not for walking we headed round the corner to the Intercontinental to check out Corleone.
In pretty early we got a good window, there was only one other couple in the place. The service was quick and attentive. Bread and water swiftly appeared with what I am guessing was tapenade, but with waaay too much balsamic in it - it shouldn't taste pickled - so we left that.
For starters I ordered the roasted mushrooms, creating great gusts of enthusiasm from our waiter

  • good experience, mediocre food 2007-01-18

I can not agree completely with other reviewers here. Corleone has a great ambiance and awesome decor. On weekends, find a mariachi trio serenading every table with your requests - fantastic! But the restaurant falls pretty flat on its face with the menu composition and the basic taste of their food. Tried the mushroom app and did not find them to be so great - average, at best. For dinner, I simply had their insalata mista (mixed greens salad) and it was ok - dressing could have been more inventive. I tried friends dishes - a ravioli dish, which totally skimped on stuffing, and some penne pasta... read more

  • Good food, good ambience 2007-01-13

Corleone is located in the Intercontinental Marine Drive. If you can get a table by the window, it offers a good view of the Arabian sea as well as the traffic passing by on Marine Drive.

There was a 3 person band playing live music. I don't know whether they play live music every night, or was it just for the weekend. They stop by each table and play whatever song you like. Cool, isn't it?

We ordered roasted mushrooms and caprese for our appetizers. The roasted mushrooms were very delicious. Highly recommended. I ordered a Ravioli El Burro something something. It was ravioli
