I was a big fan of Don Giovanni's earlier avatar on Juhu Tara Road. So I was looking forward to eating at the new version of the restaurant. I lunched here with a couple of friends on Sunday, Jan 8th. We sat in the outdoor section, which was pleasant & had enough seating space. However, the food we ordered was extremely disappointing both in terms of portion size & tase. My Risotto Mare was exactly 10 spoons (hardly enough for the robust Sunday lunch I wanted to have). My friend's Alle Arabiatta was so spicy, the sauce was almost like that of an Indian tomato based curry. And my other friend's Alle Carbonara was meant to be with bacon. It was a tiny portion of penne pasta in gorgonzola sauce with just a spoon full of tiny bits of bacon as topping! When we spoke to the waiter about our disappointment with the food & asked for a feedback form, they did nothing to improve the taste of the food or portion size, nor did they give us a feedback form. I like the decor & the outdoor setting, but for the kind of rates we had to shell out for below average taste & portion sizes, this place is definitely NOT recommended. There are better restaurants in Mumbai for Italian food, notwithstanding Don Giovanni's claim of 'authentic Italian food'!
