I was a big fan of Don Giovanni's earlier avatar on Juhu Tara Road. So I was looking forward to eating at the new version of the restaurant. I lunched here with a couple of friends on Sunday, Jan 8th. We sat in the outdoor section, which was pleasant & had enough seating space. However, the food we ordered was extremely disappointing both in terms of portion size & tase. My Risotto Mare was exactly 10 spoons (hardly enough for the robust Sunday lunch I wanted to have). Went there on a Sunday evening after prior reservation. Had no problems finding a place in the open-air section.
A word of advise : Being in the open air section secludes you completely from the staff. There was no server in the section for almost 20 minutes after we sat and throughout the evening we felt ignored (and I was of the impression that the Don personally comes to greet everyone)

The service was attentive without being too obtrusive, food arrived on time. We had the wild mushroom risotto which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Just wish there was more of a variety in salads though. Recommended.
Giovanni Federico walked past every table, chatting with some guests while exchanging smiles with others. He was the master chef responsible for the Little Italy chain and Ai Trulli at Kemps Corner. He then opened his own chain of Italian ristorante Don Giovanni. Though the Worli branch didn't quite click, the Juhu one was popular. It shut down for a while and re-opened near Hotel Kings International in October 2009. His affable nature sure rubbed off on his staff; the service was friendly and attentive throughout.
