Only for anorexic models 2011-08-31
Went there yesterday. Order thai curry with rice. The curry was okay but the rice accompanying it was only half a cup, maybe enough for a 2 year old baby. Certainly not enough for the curry. So ordered some more rice and again was given half a cup and was charged 60% of the dish.
Also ordered Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) When the dish came it was less than the half cup of the thai rice. It was mostly filled with prawns and eggs. My comeback tour of restaurants and hotels involved in the 26/11 attacks continues: first it was Souk, and now Fenix. And what a comeback it is for this restaurant...
Tiffin (RIP) was a landmark in old Mumbai; an understated and chic eatery which was always consistent in everything it did. And Fenix seems to be just the same.
The new interiors exude class, and the staff possess an authoritative style, which is distinctly lacking in other establishments of a similar star rating.

New name, but still the same 2010-12-23
Welcome back, guys. Nice to see you up and running. brought up a tear when I was there recently.
Except for the name - nothing has changed. Service is top notch, food is delightful and the warmth is all pervading.
Had gone there with my kiddo for sushi, and the range has increased manifold. Chef Rueben does a great job with the Chef's maki rolls, and the sashimi and sushi are excellent as well. It maybe expensive, but clearly worth it. -

The Fenix @ Oberoi has Risen Again! 2010-07-25
Welcome back Oberoi! Fenix (formally Tiffin) has come back to life better than ever! The Sunday Brunch with Bollinger champagne is wonderful as all alacarte items are made fresh to order rather than sitting in pans in the restaurant like Four Seasons or Taj.
Sushi selection at night is also plentiful with over 80 types of sushi. The American type burger was wonderful, must have been influenced by that American GM there and the Indian cusine was also fresh and excellent. -

By far my favourite place to hang out have a drink and some sushi. The lighting seating is perfect !!! and its never too croweded too. the menu has a good range of dishes no masterpieces but are good. it is expensive but then again not a final destination more a meeting point. . If you want ambience then Tiffin is PERFECT !!! -

RIP. 2009-03-17
Im a very harsh critic when it comes to restaurants. I expect only the best and don't mind paying for it. Tiffin and its sister restaurant, Vetro, were by far the best gastronomic experiences in Mumbai. Destroyed in the terrorist attacks, these were icons of great cooking, perfect service and simple, wholesome food.
Saluté. My only 5 star rating on this website. -

Have Brunch at Tiffin Once before you Die! 2007-08-04
Well I have brunched in many cities across the world...and hands down Tiffin gets the right formula......great basic sushi, oyesters, bloody mary's and champagne and an assortment of hot dishes. I try to make it out here every couple of weeks...my mouth is watering as I wrote this review.....thank god I am going to tiffin tomorrow...if I die I will be at ease -

great place to go to eat some sushi..
the new zealand lamb shank is absolutely fantastic.
the pork with meso is also excellent..
nice couchy seating.. attentive staff (well they better be... its the Oberoi)
a bit expensive if you drink.. but a good experience.. -
