  • Good food 2011-05-11

Global village has got a good selection of food and taste good too. Could really do much much better if service is crisp. overall i would say it has a decent decor and ambiance, delicious asian food specially the crispy chicken in oyster sauce...

the food is luscious and appealing. the wide variety of food available just makes it tough to choose. the interiors are pretty. been there a couple of times. best chinese starters ever eaten. the chicken hunan is simply delicious and so is the melted brownie thing there. the overall experience is endearing.

the food here is simply amazing. I started off with a non-veg platter. The chicken, mutton was delicious. there is alot of variety.. Indian, continental, Italian, chinese, pancakes, crepes. it not on;y gives a variety to choose in lunch or dinner but offers alot in breakfast also. on a day like saturday and sunday, its cowded. the ambience is friendly with great commercial music in the background. goodd crowd and the best part is the amazing food.

  • terrible experience 2010-03-08

we went there on recommendation of friends but on sunday at 915pm there was no waiting and the place was half empty so i had my doubts but still i sat and ordered veg fried rice and kung pao potatoes with home made pasta
the kung pao potatoes had the taste of prawns and the pasta had just some boiled chicken pieces for name sake
my wife is a vegan and she just couldnt eat i dont think they even use different dishes for veg and non veg
what a waste of time and money and was feeling pukish till the next day morning we had to take medicines to get rid of the taste and nausea

  • No wonder it's a VILLAGE! 2009-11-18

So the ambience is pretty sweet, dim lights, soft music albeit hindi tracks we've heard so many times...yawn yawn!!
Seating is good, at least I had no complaints. The food was good, my risotto in a sauce of tomatoes was a little too sour though and the garlic bread was like bread from a cheap bakery. The prawns were too small and not well cooked, when we told the waiter it's hard he says yes, ok then mister do something about it!!!
    Anyhow the service was friendly.
So it's called Global Village 'cause it serves almost everything, but here's why the village!!
    No washroom, what's that!

  • GREAT AMBIANCE VERY ARTY 2009-10-31

We were passing by from carter road and one cant miss this place with a lovely red chandelier and exotic lanterns.

Were a group of 11 people who decided to visit the place since it looked really interesting and arty.

When ordering the food the waiters looked really confused. Service was pathetic, seemed like the owner didnt know anything about the restaurant business but had a lot of money so opened a restaurant. We called for 5 to 6 starters and a mix of chinese and Indian. Most of the food had to be sent back for reheating since it was served cold. Paneer was hard, One of the

  • Global? Village? 2009-09-10

    Global Village - Carter Road:

We walked into this place on a Weekday for dinner. The location is nice - behind CCD in carter road. There is a huge chain of eateries here. So well located - but duh - no valet!

The ambience of the restaurant is below average and is not themed with the name. There was nothing Global - nor Village. Painting of Buddha on a wall and some sick red lights on the ceiling made the place look sad. They had 2 LCD tv on the walls - but one (near our table) was not working.... wooden tables and chairs are ok - comfortable cushions as well. The restaurant

  • Dard - e - Global Village 2009-06-09

Global Village was one of those things I wanted to do since the time it opened up.. and since it was an offering from the same people who had an Open Affair with food next door, this one was a must and we finally got in late on a Monday night.

At first, the setting looked nice - contemporary furniture, chinese flower curve impressions, bright silvers and pinks, a pinch of buddha and a red lamp straight from a psychic reader's office - all crushed together to form the ambience.

We scored a table to proceed with our dinner. The music was severely compromised by the ear-spanki
