Govinda's
Govinda's Restaurant, housed at ISKCON Juhu, is a pure vegetarian restaurant which provides a divine dining experience. Govinda's not only serves pure vegetarian meals but everything served is first offered to Lord Krishna – thus the meals are not only tasty but truly transcendental. Govinda's has a seating capacity of 650 guests indoors and 1500 guest in the garden. Banquet hall are available for private parties, conferences and marriage.

Have been going to Govindas for over a decade now, and the current avatar of the place is a far cry from what it used to be previously, ie right below the ISKCON auditorium. Those were the amazing Govinda days, where the spread & ambience was lavish! The overall atmosphere of that old resto is still unbeatable. Reason for upgrading: growing popularity!
Cut to now, spread over a much bigger plot the spread quality has definitely gone. But at Rs.330 a thali on weekdays and Rs.380 on Sundays(this is the biggie with 56 items!!), with daily breakfast at around Rs.150 it is still unmatched! If you... read more -

Good Place for veg quality food. Given to understand that the vegs used are organically grown buy the Iskcon Pandits. Buffet is largely spread out, varieties in kaman dhoklas are good, drinks are nice more like smallshot glasses
Good Price - but can get bit noisy on the weekends with huge families flocking the place. -

Went for a family lunch on Bhai Dooj, One word describes the experience , Ghastly, I would not pay 100 for this Thali. Used to be a big fan, been pretty much regular for nearly 22 years, but this time we went after a long gap, Service Horrible, No one gives a damn about you, It is like a langar, only difference is you are paying for it, all dishes taste the same, the farsan was acceptable, Dahi Kadhi was great, Thai Curry (HA HA HA), Can you imagine a Thai Curry with Peas and Paneer. Pathetic is not the word 2010-09-25
Can you image seeing rodents in the food you eat at such a place where they do not even serve onion garlic? I had rodents in my Kheer and this was the experience I was least expecting at Govindas! The quality of food has gone down drastically but they have raised the price, they serve pathetic almost tasteless parathas. Strawberry dhoklas anyone? This is some stupid innovation of thier chefs. The Govindas special halwa was even more pathetic, all watery. The Gulab Jamuns are thier all time favorite--will be on thier menu everyday.
