I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review for Grillopolis. I always do like a good buffet. Who doesn't? If the price is right, you can eat to your heart's content or until the staff throw you out for eating up the entire day's stock of food. On a slightly more serious note, I dragged my mum and later some friends to Grillopolis and they loved it. In particular my mum, with whom I've returned here at least 5-6 times.
The higher floor has a very nice ambience to it with the bar in the center and two private dining areas at either far corner. At the opposite end is a projection TV playing music videos. In my opinion, this is where you will want to be enjoying your meals. The catch (because there always is one) is that this area only serves a-la carte cuisine and as far as I remember, the selection was far less extensive compared to the buffet. Drinks were top notch, but the buffet area downstairs is where the action is at.
I won't rave about the food. Everyone else has and there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said before. So I'll simply make a few points over here
1) The service is very good to outstanding, which is remarkable. I love how service standards are always maintained at such a high level.
2) The selection of food on offer is outstanding, but some dishes (thankfully ones that I love!) are repeated, so I won't complain about it at all. I'm just glad the food is so good.
3) Must try items include the Prawns, the Basa, the Mutton Biryani, Veg Shammi Kababs and Baked Indian Delight (at least that's what I think that dessert is called).
4) The Basa...it is awesome. All kinds of it. Seriously.
5) You get a drink complimentary during lunch but not during dinner. I'm curious as to why this is the case merely beyond cost saving.
6) Try to leave space for the main course. You can make a meal of the starters alone.
7) Those Shammi Kababs....oh wow...
That sums up most of my thoughts on the place. At Rs. 750 pp, this is a dining experience like no other. Seriously, if you haven't visited this place already make sure you do so soon. Can't wait to go back soon.
