Awesome Chinese 2011-11-18
this place was referred to me by a dear friend..the first time I went there on a weekday and it was still packed, since I went with a Jain friend I tried the veg menu, it was surprisingly awesome and tasty ,I went back to gypsy withing 4 days to try out the non veg cuisine, we had the manchow soup, chilly chicken fried rice, veg crispy and mud cake, and its superb..the quantities are large so one portion is good enuf for two..strongly recommended time and again for every chinese lover.does not burn a hole in the pocket either..Have fun..Cheers!!! -

so i hv been visiting this place for the last 20 years with friends and family.... and hv never been disappointed.. the waiters r sweet n friendly maybe cause they have seen us around for so many years... the diff sauces and appetizer r really good. our all time favorite being the golden friend baby corn, fried wanton, spinach n corn on toast, sesame toast, mashroom sashlik, paneer chilly and veg crispy. the cocktails r pretty decent but can get better... after eating a tonne of starters we barely hv any room left for the entre. so we stick to the classic fried rice manchurian and schezwan or hakka... read more -

This is a restaurant I have been frequenting for the past 20 years at least, of what I remember. Yes, it happens to be a neighbourhood favourite, thus the high frequency!
It's always been a reliable place for chinese food, with just a slight slump in taste a few years ago, but the loyalists kept coming and it's revived whatever lost.
However, lately after visiting and trying quite a few new places that have sprung up around the city, I cannot help but think how obviously Gypsy has not only survived but continuously reinvented itself all these years.
