    Restaurant Week is supposed to be a platform for restaurants to show case their best but unfortunately in case of Hakkasan, it turned out to be a show case of their worst.

    Went to the Mumbai Hakkasan as part of Restaurant Week in April 2013 with a few colleagues. Was thoroughly disappointed with the food. This is all we had:

    1. Chicken Sweet Corn Soup: Felt like having a puree of Sweet Corn with some water and chicken bits added to it
    2. Chicken Shu Mai: For a place that positions itself as one of the best Chinses/Japanese restaurant, this was the most disappointing dish.    ... read more

    For a restaurant that sells itself with its Michelin stars, this place is downright awful. My husband and I are aficionados who enjoy fabulous dinner experiences around the world. And we were shocked that this place was trying to pass off as a starred restaurant. The waiter had no clue what was in any of the dishes, neither did he know the order in which they were to be served. And why was it being served indian style? In separate bowls to be shared? Strange for an asian restaurant. And what was that nonsensical ice-cream trying to pass off as dessert? The dim sums were probably the only palatable... read more

    Finally went to this much hyped and much talked about place !!

    The ambience was nice but not as grand as I was expecting it to be. Yautcha feels much more grand in comparison.

    We all had gone for the unlimited Dimsum dinner which they offer at 1100 , all inclusive which I think is a very good deal.

    The Dimsums were excellent. Mushroom, Bakchoy, Chives, Pumpkin and water chestnut ( we were all veg). Superlative dimsums.

    I have to admit, reading most of the recent reviews of Hakkasan one does tend to be intimidated. After all, when reviewer after reviewer tends to pan the place for one reason after the other, you can’t be faulted for thinking that there can’t be smoke without fire. Sometimes though, you must take that leap of faith not knowing how you’ll land up at the other. Sometimes, it’s a risk worth taking.
