  • Chinese that never disappoints. 2009-06-13

Our family is very picky about the food we eat and dinner out is always a much discussed decision. Wondering what to eat this time, I tentatively suggested Henry Tham's. I'd had their fixed menu at lunch sometime last year and have since wondered what their regular dinner menu would be like.

    Last night I found out.

Wandering into an empty place at 9 on a Friday night didn't bode too well especially since I'd heard Henry Tham's was a happening place! Even Royal China had two more occupied tables when we went there two days after the Mumbai Terror Attack.

    But, appear

  • Good house music... 2009-05-16

Played some really nice house music. Its actually a small place, so try to be there on time if you are going in a big group. The ambiance is really nice... A little towards the expensive side, but if you are willing to spend about 1200 to 1800 bucks, then this is a fantastic place! Highly recommended! Because it is closer to the Taj... expect a lot of firangs!

  • Good Food, Great Music 2008-10-25

Had a nice dinner yesterday in the room upstairs in the back which was fairly quiet for a peaceful dinner after a long day yet you could hear the music roaring. The dinner was awsome, some great chinese food and then going downstairs to party with some great dj's and music was even better. The drinks are good, a bit expensive and the place is really tiny. A good crowd and the place is strict about shutting down at 1:30 am. Def recommend this place for a dinner and drinks but again a very tiny place..can get crowded

  • Great Chinese Food 2008-08-04

Gone to this place several times for drinks but somehow it didn't click to go eat here. Always wondered where one can eat good chinese food in south mumbai apart from CCI club. Food was excellent very tasty & very fresh. We ordered Chicken Oyester sauce which was amazing; a must try & the typical Kung Pao Chicken which was good but Oyester sauce was way better. Even the noodles & rice was very very fresh. Good quantities & very reasonably priced. Without drinks it was approx Rs.400-500 per head. A must go, call ahead for appointment tables looked few & far. Oh the chairs...a good surprise very... read more

  • Elegant Dining + Lounge 2008-07-23

Visited this much-heard-about place on a week night. I was a little early than my reservation, so I hung around the bar on the base level of the lounge. There werent too many people (10 pm) and the DJ was playing some good music while the bar tender was overly communicative in preparing our drinks which turned out to be below par. The mojito i ordered barely had any sugar syrp and the bar tender was justifying his mix!
Anyways, moving on from the bar to the 1st floor where the dining section is located - tables are well spread while the chairs are raised to the celing in an emperor form. Excel

  • a life time memorable experience 2008-06-01

I got surprised when i went to celebrate my anniversary in Henry Tham Restaurant. The moment staff came to know it was my anniversary, all of a sudden there was a gang of boys and girls surrounding us. It was scary but after a while when they sang the song of celebration I felt like the most special person. Its really a great place to take your fiance to impress..trust me never seen such an energy in a restaurant..its a lifestyle in here.specially the music herein is the best in the city talking in terms of house....the over all ambiance of the place is zen like..a place really to enjoy your evenin... read more

  • The worst Experience of my life. 2008-06-01

Henry Tham's, a place that I had heard of from Burrp.com to be good for its food and ambiance. Well, we happened to bump into this place on 31st May to watch the semis of the IPL. Sitting in their Lounge area, we called for drinks for our selves and thats when all the problems with their services started. Here is the entire flow of all the things that happened at HENRY THAM'S WHICH IS NOT REALLY ACCEPTABLE!!

    1. We were served Jim Beam instead of Jack Daniels - reason being no stock available of JDs.

    2. We had called for these drinks with Red Bull and the drink was prepared

  • Emperor Size 2007-08-28

Went here for lunch. Loved the decor and ambience. The tall chairs make you fell like you're sitting on a throne.

Not a big fan of Chinese/ Oriental food but this place would be on the top. Ordered the crispy fried veg, mixed veg in sambal sauce and hakka noodle. The best crispy friend veg I've ever eaten. Portions were quite good as well especially of the main course.

Service was good but they recommended the same starters and main course to the table next to ours as well. Makes me wonder one size fits all ??

Spent about Rs 900 for two.
