I read all the reviews below, most of which are not flattering. I beg to disagree. Granted that the place is pricey - but what else do you expect in a 5 star?? The point of reckoning has to be the *food*. I have patronised India Jones over the years and I cant remember walking out disappointed. As a vegetarian, availability of choice is equally important. IJ scores on that count too. There are enough veg starters, entrees and curries/gravy. Sure, they dont spoil you for choice, but show me a place that does. The decor is chic lending IJ a vibrant yet sophisticated air. Service is commenda... read more

great starters esp the dimsum, but very ordinary main course. at one point i actually felt like i was sitting in one of the endless chinese food restos in the suburbs!! that could be due to the flat ambience as well. considering the hotel its situated in india jones needs to pull itself up a lot..

one good thing tho, amazing staff.

    Food
Teppanyaki was on my mind ever since I saw Kunal Vijaykar enjoying India Jones' Japanese cuisine in The Foodie. So I roped a friend to join me at the Trident to try it out.

The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which means iron plate, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled or pan-fried. So there is a large iron plate in front of you, on which the chef cooks up a variety of dishes. We started with a vegetable salad and roasted garlic with hot sauce on the side. The miso soup was really nice, with the softest tofu I've ever had. This was followed by a plate with chicken,

  • Bring the Old Menu back 2009-12-20

IJ changed their menu almost a year back, and knocked out the wonderful curries that they had from various parts of Asia - especially the Indonesian ones.

The starters are frightfully expensive considering the size of the serving and neither is the taste anything special. The main course is better, as you do get value for the money you pay. Thankfully, they brought the sushi in, after Tiffin's (RIP) demise.

The service is slow bcos they are short staffed, and actually never expect to have a full house.

They should bring back the old menu for its wider geographic

  • Food 2.5/5, Ambience 3/5, Service 1/5 2008-09-11

Went there on Sept 10, at 8.00 pm for dinner.

    Food 2.5/5
In two words - Nothing special. Tried several appetizers and main course options, both veg and non veg. Nothing in particular stood out. Appetizer portions are tiny. You could get tastier Pan Asian food at East or Joss for half the price. Point to note - They have garlic naan on the menu, which seemed a little out of place. We ordered it, but didn't get to taste it, as it was served to us with the dessert, so we sent it back.

    Ambiance 3/5
The place looks generic. Pan Asian is a hot current dining option, but
