Before beginning the vagaries of a specific outlet, that I intend to outline here, I would like to express my fondness for this chain, which I personally think scores over the chains of Baristas and Cafe Coffee Days; both by virtue of the product quality, and by virtue of the pricing at which these products are placed.
Departing from the niceties, I specifically point to the Hutatma Chowk (opp Akbarally's) branch.
1) The most annoying aspect here is that the server who is supposed to man the counter is NEVER there. Apparently, this outlet is looked after by a SINGLE person. And this SINGLE PERSON chooses to have his ELABORATE LUNCH by DESERTING the counter at the exact same time as the lunch hour of offices nearby! I have been to the place at least 10 - 15 times to find no one manning the shop! Isnt; that a business loss of at least a couple of grand??
2) There is NO PERSON whom you can ask to summon this guy, and even if you do ask around, you get idiotic answers such as "he must have gone for lunch". On one occasion I waited for at least 20 mins for him to arrive. Of course, he didn't arrive!. My bad and stupidity to wait according to his whims and fancies!
3) Assuming that this guy absconds within the 'lunch time' of 1-2 pm, I walked in today at 2.45 p.m. to witness the same shameless story!!!! It really awful to make a fool of yourself, admittedly.
4) The range of sandwiches is so limited that you actually have to count your lucky stars to find what to eat, assuming that you are already lucky to find the server in the same place at the same time.
5) Cookies, and thus the favourite 'Biscotti' always takes a hit, since the adoption of the catchphrase, 'cookies haven't yet been delivered (apparently, from Chennai!!!)' is worn on the server's sleeves at ALL times.
6) I do not mean this to be personal, since the server, if and when he exists beyond the counter is a pleasant person and caters to perfection, but somehow his blithe non-concern reflects on the management that do not either cater to his cause or the cause of the coffee shop, at large.
In any case, the marketing management have ardently taken up the cause of improvising, upon complaints received. Let's hope to see an uplift, then!
