PATHETIC:P 2010-12-31
I went to Jay sandwich yesterday for the first time as I had heard a lot about this place.Sadly, it turned out to be a case of "the three O's" which stand for 'over-hyped,over-rated and over-priced'.
Now for the experience.well for starters there is no ambience but you dont expect that from a road side stall.So thats okay.Next,for the hygiene factor,which is non-existent and i wish i had clicked a picture because there were rats running around right under the nose of the owner,happily making merry.But the owner was as unperturbed as ever.Next for the food: I ordered a veg cheese toast which... read more -

Good Sandwiches but very bad service.... 2010-12-13
The stall is located near national college...Their sandwiches are good especially their cheese masala toast...
The problem with this place is that there is 2 much chaos with regards to placing your order.
The order takes time...
Sandwiches are the best thing to have no matter when and at what time....this is 1 of the good places for sandwich...not the best though. -

Jay's masala toast sandwiches are just fantastic. It was a staple for us while we were in college there. 20 years later, it's still a "must have" each time i visit India. -

i being a nationalite...swear by the sandwiches u get here...a grilled cheese toast is what saves the day after a morning full of sluggy lectures(not that i attend much)..but ya sumtimes the attitude sucks but the owner has now become our friend so worries there... -

This jai sandwich guy has a lot of attitude as it is closest place for the National and M.M.K college students so these people show so much of tantrums and attitude.
The sandwiches are not great at all but the price is so high that you can actually eat a better burger in Mac Donald's at the same price. -

Road Side Yummy-ness 2008-05-15
I haven't been here in a while, but while I was frequenting this place, I was very pleased with what I got.
I was in a health phase then, so no toast/cheese/butter/grill, or any of that stuff for me. This meant that for a plain veg. S/W, you got tremendous value for money, and decently reliable hyiene levels.
With a chai guy close by, and a smoke beckoning, this was the perfect stop for me to wait for friends who were to meet up with me in Bandra. I have spent many a happy "half-hours" here for those pals who were only "five minutes" away.

Turning down 2008-04-24
A great place to hang around & try out the variety of sandwiches & rolls/bombay burgers once upon a time, has now turned into worse than leela who does not allow auto rickshaws into their hotels.
Though the food is pretty decent, with the attitude if not corrected may lead to......But WTF location is what matters so JAI HO JAY -

Jay Sandwich is a treasure amongst the rampant road-side foodie culture here. Not unlike other road-side sandwich stalls, you'll find your normal vegetarian options - veg sandwich, veg masala grilled, cheese grilled, etc. You will also find some veg Indian style pizzas and veg "subs" (made with some variation of pav) as well, all at fairly road-side prices.
I opted for a potato masala grilled and doused it with enough ketchup. It was delicious, and I didn't get that usual "oh shit I'm going to throw up" feeling that some road-side places induce. All in all, if you're in and around Bandra... read more -

The only option 2007-08-14
These Jay Sandwich guys have a big attitude problem.They are the only place closest place for MMK National students so they treat them like rubbish.Not fair. When u walk in to his RESTAURANT which is just an open -half - footpath-illegel structure thing you will start reading.Hes got these boards saying- no smoking, no holding hnds, no love birds,no service in car.WTF.I think hell soon put a board saying no eating food in restaurant premise. -
